Havoc first impression

Thanks, it worked after restarting. I changed the post.

The hidden modifiers are all and always present?

From what the guide says:

  • Hidden modifiers are added or upgraded every order rank

Sadly this could mean a lot of things. Random replacement? Upgrade + Addition or replace with similar rank? No idea tbh.

Havoc came before Party Finder in inception, not the other way around. But I hear you and the other comments players are making. Team is reading the feedback now.

I read this too. While the post does say that, the difficulty for Havoc doesn’t scale in the same was as those difficulties listed. There are more modifiers and mutators that change the game play.

Again, noting that for other players commenting, you want to see more difficulty, or the ability to jump much higher up the queue. o7

So this was a deliberate decision? Or it was some kind of technical limitation? It seems very weird either way.

We need to be able to immediately go to the difficulty level at which we wish to play.

I am a Auric Maelstrom enjoyer, so why would I want to waste time on Heresy Havoc until my rank increases to my normal difficulty level (Auric Maelstrom) every week when I could instead just go play regular Auric Maelstrom and not have to interact with this system at all?

To be honest, Strawhat, Havoc is pretty dull.

Completing an Auric Maelstrom to unlock should have dropped you into Havoc at rank 20, not rank 10. Also an option to challenge a mission 5 or 10 ranks above you would be nice. 1 rank a mission through lower difficulties is way too slow.

Party Finder only will mean this mode dies in two weeks.

Paste this in big bold letters in a sign and put it in front of everyone’s desk so they have to look at it all the time. That or just have whoever is responsible for the RNG nonsense slapped upside the head every time they try.

Wasn’t it going to be Regular Maelstrom originally?

So from the sound of it, the crux of the issue is just the Havoc rank that was awarded after doing the auric should have been higher?

Not sure why there was a disconnect there in testing. The reaction here just seems like another FS special of “things that could have been avoided”.

Just dunno why we don’t have some sort of Chaos Wastes mode tbh. That was such a slam dunk you would think you would want to recreate that system here and not try weaves 2.0.

Credit to the team (or single individual in charge of design direction) for not being afraid to take risks though, you’re all braver than I would be.

I have 1500 hours in your game.

I can’t play havoc mode unless someone I know that plays the game (way) less than me is online.

Party finder doesn’t fix the problem.

LET ME PLAY THE GAME WHEN I WANT TO!!! ITS NOT A JOB ITS A VIDEOGAME

I have upgraded my pc in time for the patch and cleared the day to play the new harder missions. I exited the game in less than 1 hour and DIDN’T GET TO TRY THE NEW GAME MODE!!! AT ALL!!

If you don’t want players this invested in your game to play it then thats fine with me I will play other games instead.

Also I’m not playing heresy for a week till maybe I get to play on Damnnation (maybe) next week I’m just going to stop playing the game

Yep, indeed mate, it may mean.they’re all active at the same time (of course with the relative rank)… or just a bunch, choosen randomly or fixed

Hope someone will clarify this… thanks for the answer!

Oh my god.

The Auric board starts at Heresy and they couldn’t even go with that?

This is their “end game” content? Why does it start at beginner level content?

I unlocked Havoc with an Auric Maelstrom and I started off at rank 10. Which still means 10 heresy-equivalent missions before reach the damnation-like difficulties.

Also the pus armour modifier gives an enemy around 5x or so health, making them massive damage sponge and it feels like 20% of the enemies have that blessing.

Lets be honest, we knew it was going to turn out like this.

Fatshark are so far out of touch with the playerbase, its unreal.

(Late edit, but I really feel its important to point out: I do not think its any of the CM Team who’re failing in this regard at all.)

Yes but isn’t that the base used for modifier calculations? I’d assume that all the health and damage modifiers use the respective difficulty’s base data?

We also need an option to either SOLO or quickplay. The partyfinder doesn’t work and won’t work. It’s too much of a hassle given tide games’ player numbers. This is what killed weaves, and it’s killing havoc before it even started.

I appreciate the info. Does the game tell you this anywhere?

Still bleh

Dukane’s text says to finish an Auric Maelstrom, but didn’t say there would be a difference.

I can’t even play it because I can’t complete an Auric maelstrom mission because it’s now flooded with noob quitters :sob:

@FatsharkStrawHat Actually I have to ask, are the secret playtesters you have a separate group from the content creators you gave early access to? Because I know Indypride at least plays at a higher level than the average player and if he is a part of the playtesters I find it surprising he wouldn’t mention something like this.

Unless this “play an auric and only get 10 levels” thing was a change that was last minute so there was no time for feedback for it?

Those are really the only two options I see, either the playtesters are giving no/inadequate feedback or they aren’t being given time to give any when last minute changes are put in place.

Or secret option number 3, getting to skip 10 levels was a change post feedback and it wasn’t a far enough skip in levels and (again) no one was given enough time to tell them that.

Just can’t wrap my head around it.
