It’s these things that ruin fun for literally every player and have been complained about constantly since day one that have made me give up on hoping fatshark will fix their game

i think you are being naive here, havoc mod appealed to those players ego, if their assignment rank actually meant something they wish to keep it as high as possible, what i can say is that in those two weeks there was already a distinction between level 40 assignment players that would just host a game every monday to mantain their rank

my complaint is that after hotfix #66 (that was supposed to incentivize level 40s to go help lower levels complete their assignment) it exacerbated the behavior i’ve mentioned above instead, to the point that the players who are ghosting the mod are more numerous than the ones who are still climbing

they expected the high ego players to turn into good samaritans and all they got was for them to lose interest completely

this is a fair point but hear me out when i say that hotfix #66 made the curve steep, the day before there were plenty of good players around still

why do you need to make it so complicated when they can just keep deranking and just display the number of your current assignment, you know, the thing that actually matters

Havoc introduced difficulty modifiers and gameplay intensity we have been asking for years, all nice locked away behind a game mode design which just doesn’t want to be played..

I love the gameplay, and feel sick every time I had to interact with the interface, find a random party or deal with game mode restrictions.

This is not the first time Fatshark shots themselves in the foot.

there’s really no need to use Party Finder in Havoc. you still can’t join mid-mission, and you can get into the queue just by pressing the play button once. just wait until all four players are ready, and remove the start timer like in regular missions. If the devs have time to work on a Party Finder, it would be far more useful and much simpler to implement a feature that lets you freely change classes during the ready-up screen. It’s something anyone could realize with just a little thought, so I’m not sure if Fatshark lacks common sense or what, but they always seem to take the most roundabout approach.

but if you wanna increase the odds of you getting mates with decent builds get party inspect mods inspect from party / social for example

the amount of garbage and meme builds has drastically increased since they removed deranking on 40 which is fine in itself but not having a first party tool to inspect people before being able to make a choice on if you want to invite them to your havoc or not is kinda bad especially with semi hard requirements like beacon for certain modifiers

I do not understand why it is so important to safe that lvl40 once you reached it…
The game mode was perfect when everyone was demoted; lots of hosted games and very little difference in ability between similar ranked individuals.
But you had to whine and now we got THAT. I do not think it will get better if any demotion is removed. Even more incapable players will play the mode and insist they deserve to rise to lvl40. And thus you will grind out every level with 20 or even more tries until you finally have that one similar skilled player and only two buffoons to carry. Until after 4000 games you finally reach lvl40 and never play again. Please don’t make it a completionist Grindfest. Remove all penances for this game mode and reintroduce the demotion for all.

And maybe hide the level from the player - make them think there is only one level. Group finder only displays groups of a level below you and there is no demotion screen played. Now you have a system which adapts to the abilities of the individual with a constant difficulty (just a tad too high so you can continually improve yourself) but variing maps/modifiers. Just get the ego out of everyone’s donkey.

your suggestion is terrible on so many levels and also nothing stops anyone from hosting their own levels everyone just wants the free level climbs and a carry from higher missions / teams

Havoc is supposed to be very, very hard. Those who regulary succeed high level missions rely on their skill, not on their luck. So this game mode shouldn’t include, in addition to this fact, a solo PVP ranking feature revamped from a mobile card game that feels extremely artificial. However, i don’t think FS will remove deranking system. Everyone would see the obvious : why do we have this, instead of a T6 difficulty ?
I frankly see all Havoc features as a disguise

Contrary: removing deranking gives space to luck: you only have to reroll as often till you succeed/ till the spawn director decided this time be easy

We know how this goes, it happened with the locks. Community complains for years and months until the developers give in because a toddler could have done better than their awful ideas. Then they end up listening and have to deal with the fact that they only know how to develop good gameplay but not good engaging systems around it, so they run off in shame and go do some console port or something for 6 months.

How long will it take this time to remove the “locks”? Probably like another half year, and what I know is that Havoc will be more than dead by then. It’s a great life being a fan of this company, because no game comes even close in terms of melee combat so we’re stuck with this hostage situation where you want to play so bad, but everything surrounding their excellent gameplay has been absolute garbage since the 1st beta. Think of the cool weapons and maps we could be having by now if they actually had a competent leadership, had their priorities right and had never made havoc or mortis…

Even just adding the fun modifiers like mobian to the auric board is an easy band aid fix while they add new actual content, but no… why would they do that? Remove content in a content starved game, good idea! They refuse to do the mininum and instead keep throwing garbage free charms and insignias at us while robbing the whales to fund their next RNG gachatide game. Man, I hope the combat lead who left in 2023 is making an actual proper game with this gameplay so I never have to play something from Fatshark ever again. I’m fed up with this nonsense.

exactly this. sorry if i sound like a broken record, i’ve posted several times about restrictions because those enrage me, and apparently, someone at fatshark really likes restricting player agency in some way, as if overcoming restrictions was part of the game’s difficulty. and every time they manage to surround excellent gameplay with hurdles that make one lose the incentive to play.

The bigger question is, what value is there in decaying ranks in the first place? That’s a much greater disincentive to engage with that content than the possibility of some trolling by a handful of jerkwads that wouldn’t exist if you didn’t have to worry about rank decay in the first place.

Given that the mode struggles to find players at all in the first place, perhaps having more people play the mode isn’t the worst thing in the universe.

Ummm no. Send me your ign name and ill run circles around you. In havoc 40s all it takes is one person to run a little to far ahead and trigger the wrong mobs and its a wipe 90% of the time. To sit here and tell a 2k hour player to get good in short is comical. Send me your ign.

go watch some of the best players on youtube and see that even they fail 50% of their 40s with a stacked team with people they play with daily. With new system its not uncommon to have a failure. Add in the fact you get legit players who dont understand builds, timings and how to SIMPLY BACK TRACK if pushed to hard it makes for a difficult playthrough for any top player. I just played a 32 and I had to save the game 3 FREAKING TIMES on my main zealot. 3 separate times the other players all died and ii had to clutch. I get netted and they all just continue to fight the chaso spawn watching me die, i die ONE FREAKING time and then they all proceed to die and we wipe. That is not a me being apart of the problem. Actually If your ign name is merrick ive played auric with you and youre a bot no offense :/…
I dont feel like you play havocs often with your replies talking about meta builds and mods like someone with 2k hours and MANY 40 clears doesnt understand that aspect lol…

What FS is failing to understand is YES i love that 30+ are hard now. LOVE it. I fall asleep in Auric now, its no challenge at this point. But deranking on top of extremely hard is a terrible idea to keep players interested. Everytime a player dies it increases the difficulty in a 30+. Its not like auric where its pretty easy to clutch solo and save a round. Just remove deranking. Let people have fun and climb to 40. Let 40s stay 40. When you update havoc set a new cap. Deranking is whack and i can see 99% of the community agrees. So with those odds fs may change this in 2027…

Heres me playing with yt Rawk last night as example, i dont think you know what your talking about saying im the problem. 3 hours 19 mins is start of our game. We get a win. I dont go down once. think i got pounced once. then 2 losses in a row. I die on last run i played with them because teammate hit a fire barrel and killed me… Which crap happens but i got a derank cause of it lol.
