Here’s an example of what I am talking about Sometimes, even when you lose, you feel like a badass in spite of how you lost. We were ambushed on both sides in the stairwell. Dogs coming in from below, horde of walkers, crushers, maulers coming in above with trapper support. This was a pincer, and it was rough. Because once we had to drop down, we were met with sniper cover, flamethrower, bulwarks and pox bursters waiting below for us. I genuinely felt like I did all I could. I don’t think I ever had time to use the stim if I ever had the chance, because I was expecting to have more reaction time for the horde from above, I was caught off guard and immediately put into action which demanded everything but the time it took to inject a syringe.
Do you guys have any clips where it felt like a valiant defeat? Or a Pyrrhic Victory? ( The last man standing to extract? ) That feeling when you gave it all you could until the end.
I played a C-I-VI earlier today that resulted in a wipe, but was a lot of fun regardless. Everyone was covering each other and in the end we simply got overwhelmed due to a series of mistakes (I certainly wasn’t helping, I kept eating overheads because zealotbrain). Worthy of a GG.
This is probably my craziest loss by far. Lost both teammates halfway through a monster lights out mission and eventually we got split and screwed. I started playing kind of stupid toward the end but that’s the way it goes
Mostly no because 9/10 times it’s a cheating piece of sh!t trapper to blame, but the loses where I feel good are usually when everyone else is downed and I’m being an Ogryn ninja hacking and slashing through all manner of crap to try and get to my team mates… I make it to them despite all the odds, start reviving and bam - trapper net out of nowhere just before they are fully rescued. Match failed.
The only reason that I feel good about that is it might make those people hate trappers as much as me and realise how bs and broken they are.
If you are responding to me its because my original plan was to circle back around and outrun the mob so I could res my teammate - I messed up and was too slow on the jump down though, I should of dodged and sprinted. Normally if you are being chased by a giant horde and you are alone and need to res, the best thing to do is go as wide as possible, leading them on a wild goose chase then hopping over an edge and sprinting to your teammate. That is what I was GOING to do lol
AH makes sense. I thought you were the only one left alive going for the sniper maybe, but then you got surprised attacked, requiring you to try and heal. I thought a better play would be run across the street or continue left, after hopping the stairs… in any event… tough loss.
Yeah in that situation I probably would of been better going straight for the res after the hop down from the stairs but I underestimated how fast they would corner me at that res station haha
when the AI director was nuts spawning waves after waves with 0 breaks true auric experience till they nerfed it cause trash players were like “I cant finish auric anymore” owo or the good old times where the boss modifier spawned REAL BOSSES which was soooo amazing having like 5 REAL BOSS spawn at the same time. But nah all fun reduced cause of “balancing” aka lowering difficulty for the ego of bad players who DEMAND to play the hardest difficulty.
Plenty to count. I think my classic one is clearing like 3 monsters, plenty of elites and other stuff but letting my guard down slightly at the end and getting downed by some stupid poxwalker or something.
Cant even get mad after that.
No, never.
All I see is my mistakes: I wasn’t mindful enough of the situation, I wasn’t good enough with my positioning or decision making
It’s never - “I did good enough” - becuase it’s never is
I want the same as a condition, something like endless horde. We had that by the past, as a bug in heresy. I want the bug being a feature. And not just for Auric… or at least without shock troop. Shock troop in reality make things easier as several talents rely on the elite / special deaths. Also, I don’t like this condition.
Personally, I have no problem with close to impossible difficulty if several players ask for this.
I played auric with the increased difficulty. It was far from impossible and we completed it. However, as I explained in an other thread, I don’t really like Auric cause, essentially, people rush. But now that it seems also that’s what happens in regular damnation… I will end at trying playing solo I guess.
Same. I consider that when we die this is related to errors we did.
rushing is the way to process tho. The longer you “waste” time the more your limited ressources swindle. Except for the psyker but you could take his wounds as his ressources considering how often they explode on pub lobbys
Not really… I don’t know who started to think that rushing make things easier, but it just create more wipes from players that cannot follow.
I don’t talk about me… as I don’t even try to follow as I loot every chest.
And to be honest, if the team die, so be it. If they are so stupid to never wait, then they should never complain.
moving forward and not strain your ressources worse than staying put wait till the next horde spawns? I just hear someone lacking.
The issue is you looting every chest on auric. That’s pointless if you want to farm plasteel go play high int but not maelstrom / any other combo modifier and let alone you find just enough by going the main routes which is usually 500 plassteel we get without looking at all corners oft he map and wasting time alas making the team get wiped.
Guy, maybe you should try to not rush, and you would see that, no, this is not the end of the world if you don’t rush…
Franckly, if there was infinite horde like there was on heresy a long time ago, I would agree with you… but, we are FAR from this.
And yes, I will continue to look at every corners, good training for when I play solo (damnation difficulty).
The team get wiped cause they don’t pay attention to others, don’t try even to take a medikit (they are too lazy to transport it) and so they get what they deserve.
But, be reassured:
in auric, I rarely see a team wiped cause of this as players know what they do. If we wipe, I am always with the team
when I play auric I don’t visit all chests usually (but sometimes yes if the team is good enough)
I prefer playing damnation cause of people like you… and sadly now, in regular damnation we also see such behavior (that’s why I started to play solo games)
and yes, I use to try to help other players instead of ignoring them and trying to continue to rush as I can see in the games (I suppose you don’t try to help?)
So, I can understand that you don’t want to play as a team. You just want to finish the game as fast as you can…
I wish they would not have nerfed the gunners… it was so much better.
About plasteel, I get usually 950 to 1100 plasteel per run… in 21-30 minutes. So, much longer. I suppose you complete the map in less than 5 minutes?
