I’d have to say that it should then stun all targets regardless of monstrosity or nurgle’s blessing, and hold the stun for about ten seconds.
Otherwise, it’d be useless in its current form having a 2-charge 60s CD.
It puts out above average damage numbers while losing to at least 6 other things. The hate boner people have for this thing is hysterical.
God forbid you ever encounter anyone using a Heavy Braced Autogun properly, let alone the myriad of psyker or ogryn cheeses.
Who exactly are these “top players” in Darktide, I wonder?
I only ever play Auric Maelstrom.
Does this put me at the top?
I am not sure what the label means when there is no competitive way to compare players, such as in a MoBA, RTS, or competitive FPS, and the entire point of Darktide is cooperation, so the thread’s premise is flawed from the start.
Well at least spill the brauto build you’re referencing here. Can’t say I’ve ever felt it was crazy good since patch 13 (though have always been a fan regardless) but maybe I’m missing something.
Also I assume by “heavy” you specifically mean Agrip.
I have numerous videos up casually shooting everything in sight with Heavy Braced on Auric Maelstrom. You can basically take your plasma build, slap a heavy braced on it and do better damage on average, especially if you’re keen to use a power sword to deal with crushers, but even if you aren’t, you still have kraks.
Not only is the plasma gun slower on average at killing most targets than the heavy braced unless they’re perfectly lined up, it literally does not have the ammo capacity to do the volume of shooting the heavy braced is capable of. It’s entirely possible to finish an Auric Damnation run without ever pulling out your melee weapon with a heavy braced veteran and while absolutely dominating the scoreboard. Plasma cannot do this.
Psyker cheese needs no explanation. It’s broken.
I don’t know what your preferred plasma build would be either so that still fairly well leaves me in the dark. If you don’t mind linking what you think to be the best brauto build I’d be keen to try it and see if I need to re-evaluate my opinion of brauto.
Send your build I need to see this
I feel you are focusing on the total ranged damage done and not the fact that plasma can destroy a conga line of specialists and elites faster then any other gun. I wouldn’t mind it, if it actually came with risks from using it.
Cheers. Admittedly never tried middle Keystone with brauto so will be fun to try that out. What blessings you run on your brauto? Also perks flak + maniac?
Am i a joke to you?

Bolter was nerfed only for the veteran in patch 13 when they ruined the class (free reload removal, first scavenger nerf, fully loaded nerf and nothing else), Zealot bolter only got buffs (patch 14 base damage buffs and patch 19 ammo buff), with the only exception of pinning fire nerf which was fair

This didn’t ruin the game in the slightest and is still one of the best if not the best aura in the game
Only if you are using a completely wonky scale.
Play with it, play without it, you feel nothing.
The auras freaking suck.
there aren’t just revolver players in this game dude
It’s actually among the worst auras in the game now. You’re better off taking the extra 5% damage now. Specialists are typically killed in droves, and getting 1% ammo back on one of the ten specialists killed in a particular drove is not a good return.
That’s highly situational. Being the best in one specific instance does not make it the best overall.
The hate comes when you see that half the games you start has a plasma gun player and that if, unfortunately, the player is skilled you CANNOT PLAY AT ALL.
Yes if the plasma gun could explode when you use it too much
But, since the change about venting, i have succeeded to explode myself only one time… And it was just for testing how far I could go until it explodes
The answer is… Really too far.
*1% per player for up to 4 players. I mean I’m pretty sure if you bothered to count up all the procs over a full mission it would still be an awful lot of extra ammo for the team.
Can understand skipping it if you’re only concerned with your own personal ammo sustain but I think it’s kind of crazy to suggest it isn’t still one of the best team utility auras in the game.
The issue of balancing weapons by “this is being used too much” is a poor design rationale that no game company should be making decisions around in and of itself, there needs to be some deeper insight.
If a weapon is super popular because its fun and feels right, that’s great, don’t mess with that. Things can be well balanced and have different popularity at the same time. People don’t enjoy everything in the same proportions.
If a weapon is super popular because it’s insanely overpowered and trivializes content, that’s an issue that needs to be addressed.
That said, between Helldivers and Darktide, I’ve yet to run into issues as huge in Helldivers as I have in Darktide. Arrowhead may have made some poor decisions on a couple patches, but they’re also responsive to those issues, Fatshark makes balance changes to weapons and then lets them sit forever without comment.
I don’t think weapons issues however are big problems for either game in and of themselves. HD2 has slipped off its post-release highs, but is still probably the most popular 4 person coop shooter out there in terms of play rates, while Darktide’s play rate issues are much more related to stuff around the weapons.
Its only good because ammo is more scarce now, but only on paper, i’ve been playing with ogryns recently that thought they could be free to use their grenade launcher since they saw me with survivalist, but they were always out, just as if i didn’t have the aura in the first place
not to mention all the psykers in your team for which your aura is useless, and that players are in choesion with you for like 10% of the game
all this is not the problem for me though, my gripe with the game is that it gaslight you to be happier finding a revolver bullet instead of a bolter round
