if that “growth” would consist of tourists unable to tie their shoelaces yet force themselves into auric while being surprised pikachu at the stomp they get?

then i gladly keep 4k players overall and pay monthly for servers.

to artificially keep the lights on if the “essence” of the game gets sacrificed for easier access isnt my idea of a darktide i’d like to play in 5 years or more.

cause its the hardcore players with insight based on skill and experience that offer valuable suggestions, not some “i just wanna have fun” feeling.

the next “fun” thing is around the corner every 6 months or so and the locusts gonna flock to that field anyways.

so why no “themepark/mouthguard” mode for t1 & 2.

no throw only fetch, weapons go ham.

getting serious when at t5, the middle t3 & 4 being a testing ground for basic movement and game physics.

and by the time you reach auric maelstrom you pull your own teeth while smiling for the emperor.

Yes it was so needed much like how 80% of primaries must just be worse versions of other weapons with absolutely no reason to use them is necessary but no let’s just deflate all the tyres on the car to make it balanced it’s doing absolute wonders for community sentiment and player numbers.

The incend breaker is being used a lot on bugs
Why? Hmmm let’s not consider that at all and just spread sheet balance while keeping other weapons s***.
Great job guys the escalation of freedom update was disappointing in our own eyes

there is!
failing even this mediocricy and not be ashamed to demand the “already easy” stuff being lobotomized so they fit their craniums.

enough with this pve=no skill bullshyte, theres plenty pve games average joe wouldnt get past the tutorial and every mofo going solo thtough I II V E G gets my utmost respect for he is the better player.

same goes for anyone learning the ropes and being a skilled and active boon in a (shocker) team
game.

the least one could expect is people pulling their weight when joining demanding difficulties instead of watering it down to the point even they cant f-it up anymore.

kinda reminds me of that olympic “breakdancer”
but sure, participation trophies for everyone.

you wanna have “fun” ? stay at “fun” settings.

no, the most important question is, fatshark’s designer don’t play high level game as hd2’s. All of their rebalance is based on forums.

at least one i had joining late in an auric maelstrom match.

only found out weeks later by seeing the portrait watching my replay.

This actually made me remember the time when Ogryn was the strongest ranged option in the game.

Back when Ogryn had 3 burn stacks per hit and 30% rending up at all times

Ah~, good times
But, everybody understood why the BIG boy with a shotgun being able to clear rooms with one ult is a little overboard.

To the topic - Fatshark is actually pretty good at balancing their game(as many others said here), and not wierd about it, like Arrowhead.
At least they are not against the stuff like “a bit too reliable” guns.
I do not know where these studios are different, but oh well, at the moment I think Fatshark is doing a good job balancing their Games and Opinions

Competitive mentality kills games for sure when devs decide it should be the sole focus. But you’re wasting your breath here, because only hardcore players visit this forum and the game is basically dead from a casual player’s standpoint. Some regulars on this forum are the same people who “skill issue” and berate majority of the playerbase on Steam forums for not being good enough, while thinking they are the gods of gaming for playing PVE games where enemies walk into your shots.

Also, unless mission is literary unbeatable or barely beatable only by top% players with 5k+ hours with the most optimized builds possible, these people will never be happy about the difficulty. But most of the time they just say the game is easy to flex, so it doesn’t matter.

I remember playing an auric mission last month where I was left to die by the duo (they literary run past me, instead of reviving me), and when I asked them what the hell are they doing, one of them told me, “The scoreboard speaks for itself, don’t talk to me”. This guy discarded my entire existence, because a third party tool told him I’m the worst player on the team, even though I play since day 1 and beat hundreds of auric missions, and I never abandon my teammates on purpose.

This is the type of people who celebrate and ask for nerfs. They don’t care about the game or the playerbase, they only care to be considered better than most people playing the game.

Another strawman thread

Helldivers has 20k players online right now, the game is fine.

In Darktide, top players didn’t make it so that 90% of the weapons are trash, the devs did that

Get over yourselves

2 different games with totally different balancing problems. Darktide has few outlier weapons and many reasonably balanced ones. Helldivers has like couple usable setups to even play the highest difficulties and plenty of crap setups.

Hyperbole? Or do you have an inside contact at FatShark!?

While some weapons are off the pace, even a casual player should be able to make any of them work at level 3, maybe 4.

And hand on heart, if people are asking for nerfs to your favourite weapon, it might be worth considering whether you could play at the same difficulty level with another weapon combo … else otherwise they might just be right?

If you read the requests for changes on DT forums, people generally say what and why. Even so far as to call out specific blessings. It’s typically quality feedback, not just a rant.

I would also go so far to say as the requests are really limited to a handful of weapons and the list is pretty much always the same; knife, CIAG, plasma, kickback… maybe trauma staff. That’s pretty much just one weapon on each of the classes. At the same time, other people are asking for other weapons to be bettered; lasguns (have always been meh in my memory, apart from maybe the K12), tactical axes (ditto). There is balance requested.

Anyway, imho hardly a game killer when there are another 100 odd to choose from. DarkTide didn’t suffer from weapon imbalance, it suffered from a premature launch and what is quite a niche game play; at least 50% melee orientated.

God this thread has turned toxic per usual.

Plasma gun isn’t remotely close to the same level of cheese as Psyker garbage.

shout krak plasma with ping keystone is absolutely on par with psyker

What is this thread.

Fatshark only ever nerfed like 4 weapons and a couple of abilities that were quite clearly over-performing and were inescapable on Heresy, where they could just clear rooms. If that wasn’t done, the game would’ve been dead waaaay faster than it takes for it to die right now.

That’s not even the best gun build on Vet. Not even remotely close to Psyker cheese either.

The plasma gun is a basic ***** tier S weapon. Is it good? Yes. It’s very good. It isn’t game breaking in the slightest. It loses out to a lot of things in terms of sheer DPS.

Fatshark has hardcore nerfed weapons into the dirt and not fixed them afterwards, but they’re not Arrowhead levels of ‘people like using this too much, better make it worse’.

Which gun is better? Columnus?

is it a game breaking? yes it is…

You aren’t going to comprehend the complexities of these arguments where cleaving like 20 elites/specialists that have their bog standard 2.0 hitmass (basically everything but bosses, mutant, mauler or ogryns), killing everything but that list in one uncharged hit and having like 45 shots between reload is only meh. He was using similar gymnastics about overkill damage to disqualify another poster’s insistence that the Hellbore was at least usable in game. The only weapon he claimed to do more damage with in a game was a braced 8 autogun.

Anyway Helldivers is a great example in listenting to the community and that being the route of most bad press when you figure out that they have no design interest besides dude bro’ing it for a week. I can’t even find a video on the subject that isn’t just repeating the lines ‘its a PVE game so it can’t be hard’. Doesn’t that game have like 7 difficulty settings? Glad I dodged that dumpster fire.
