Handing Stims, books, and crates is terrible

Vermintide 2 has such a clean mechanic to hand items. You go up to the person with your item in hand, push the E key (or what ever you have interaction bound to) and it was immediately in their inventory. No overly fancy nonsense, just a clean and streamlined mechanic.

Darktide took that idea and sat an Ogryn on it. Having to hold the alt fire and then release it at the right time is slightly annoying but I can live with it. What I can’t stand though is you can release it while someone is highlighted but if either of you move while the release animation is playing it doesn’t pass the item. What should take 1/4 of a second takes 3 seconds to do because you both have to be more or less standing still.

I should also be able to use some kind of key binding to specify which teammate I want to give it to. Example: if my teammates for me are listed on the side as Vet, Psyker, Zealot. I should be able to hold a stim, push down the alt fire to give, and hit the number 2 key to give it to the Psyker if he’s in range.

What I don’t need is to try and either use or give a green stim to a teammate on their last wound and play an impromptu game of tag while they dodge a chaos spawn.

I 100% agree, you should probably change this thread to the gameplay feedback section however.

Stims are so bad for this. What’s even the point of being able to use them on other people when you have to tell them to stand still for 20 minutes while you apply it?

I found a really good video of an Ogryn snapping at a Zealot over the mic because they were running ahead whilst he was trying to give them a Stimm, it was relatable as Hel.
