Another fanboy’s blah blah blah~ What’s the point of passive being challenging? Game is for fun, not for stress. However, I think tasks are still challenging. I have played weave after update. Losing tome, grim tasks are not good. 20 specials,.30 elites are hard enough. Seems they made like this because this is co-op game and I understand, restricting HP regen on weave amd FOW.
And mobility? Who would prefer movement speed to 2 guaranteed CW kill. When you have to kill special, do you waste ult on trash and chase warpfire? I doubt.
I don’t play GK but you are insisting nerf and you are not welcome.
If buffs are OP, in certain circumstance FK can OP like weave and deed+FOW but FK isn’t must pick.
I think GK is good as it is as good elite killer and soso boss dps.
Not having ranged weapon and breakthrough skill is big risk already. He should be more powerful imo.
Them having different damage profiles doesn’t say anything about it being intended or not. It just means that one damage profile is blocked by the shield and the other not.
However, it is still very much likely that it is indeed intended as it may be okay to actually nullify one special but being invincible against a boss seems a bit excessive. In addition, there is a difference in their behaviour. The Warpfire Thrower shoots permanently after having locked on his targets unless you get out of reach. The Stormfiend is shooting in bursts so he is far easier to approach by melee and doesn’t warrant the additional help.
Sidenote: Seriously, why is it that fricking faulty Skaven technology can throw warpfire for minutes without overheating. Skavens are knows for advanced but (let’s be polite) instable technology. Honestly, after 5 seconds of constant firing the Warpfire Thrower should have an increasing chance of just exploding. 5 % at the beginning with 5 % increase per second.
Honestly, Stormfiend and Troll are the worst cata Monsters when playing GK right now. The troll you can dodge when he is vomiting, but when he gets interrupted and pukes a puddle in front of him you are handed a ticket to walk around him before you can start hitting him again. No DR makes this actually hurt on cata and no dash does not make this a nice experience aswell. (Slayer has both btw.)
Stormfiends are even worse. They leave fire all over the place start charging into the same and when you catch fire aggro you better have a 1.2 dodge range weapon and space to dodge, otherwise, your hp bar goes bye bye.
Barkskin helps a bit, but not a lot, with those situations and its also a fools errand to think that Trait will be there for eternity, especially with a called BBB.
I like the helmet cover, it’s a nice touch I don’t remember seeing it in any other game.
His vibrant colors are cool as well because it’s easier to identify him on the battlefield.
The shield pattern on his outfit fits well and his overall look is excellent.
The only downside is his weapons lack shimmering effect as it was discussed here. New GK weapons' metal looks... off?
And the blade of the longsword is really too thick. The new anim which shows the sword by pressing the appropriate button is cool (I don’t remember the vanilla button). Those who didn’t notice it, we can rotate the weapon by moving the mouse.
WEAPONS
The longsword is a great addition, finally we have a working 2h sword what other Kruber classes can use, too. Its movesets are great, I enjoy using it, especially the heavy attacks of course. I prefer using it even when I have a fully charged ult and could use it instead.
I think all of its anims should be quicker by 5-10% to make more difference compared to the other 2h swords. Maybe with higher speed it could be used more often on GN instead of the exec sword.
And it’s quite bizarre this and the greatsword has the same reach.
Bretonian sword and shield is less convincing. His flame defense ability encourages using a shield but the bretonian shield feels clunky and its light moves are not good enough to use it against a horde. Especially the second attack makes it painful because it’s almost a vertical slash, undesired against a horde. The heavy attack and the attack chain is very good but it’s not needed at all because we use his main weapon for attacking armored targets.
The imperial shield light moves are way better and good against hordes so I use it rather than the bretonian one. The imperial sword and shield is the only real option if I want to keep a shield and use his 2 weapon options like in case of slayers: one against light the other against heavy opponents.
GAMEPLAY
At first the huge power bonuses seemed OP but not that much in the practice. Quests are quite useful. I think when we lose the books the appropriate bonuses should be deactivated and the quest should be active again.
The 10th level talent row is surprizingly versatile with real choices, very well made.
His ult is great and the options in the 30th lvl talent row are meaningful.
There are still things which should be balanced, like the stoicism which can be easily interrupted to be useful.
Knights in real history used pollaxes on foot which are very similar to halberds so GN should be able to use it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pollaxe
Check the picture search mode in google for pollaxe for different… illusions.
OVERALL
The class is definitely useful and feels different. It’s a good addition to the game.
