Thoughts?
Gib now
and poweraxe pls thx
It already exists in the gamefiles iirc.
Has existed since the beta, just like the great swords, shock mauls and bolt pistol.
Chain Halbert boost
sometime between now and actual 40k I guess. Back in the signal update (December 2022) they added more reference lines to 2H chain axe. But also ‘ogryn 2H hammer’ which hasn’t materialized yet either. But unlike that ogryn basher the 2H chainaxe at least has a weapon insignia (another thing that is going basically unused) and a localized name (‘Sturmdrang Mk III Assault Chainaxe’).
Two-handed chain flail is something I want.
Lawl how would they even work? Chainsaw flail or just flail with chain as normal….chainsaw knife
The head of the flail are made of 4 saws and the part that connects to the head and hilt is a cable.
there is a entry on the lexicanum wiki thing.
Why? So it can be completely outclassed by a lame regular dueling sword? Balancing issues aside, we do need more 40k specific weapons. I think the non 40k specific weapons are a waste of resources
I smell khornite heresy…
The blood must flow and such.
Yeah, about that…
Strong agree. Why do we have Combat Axes and Tactical Axes anyway? Fatshark should just stick to Chainaxes and Power Axes. The One-Handed Axes are only one out of MANY examples of this in Darktide. Less bloat and more 40K, please.
Exactly.
I care more about the bigger chaxe than I do about the forgotten new vet weapon at this point.
My zealot craves maximized violence. Give me the biggest chainaxe and set it on fire for more holy brutality.
It’s like a chain glaive…. I really want same swing pattern now
Absolutely. I need another Shock Maul that is added to the game, then barely ever used a month after since everything it does is done better by the Duelling Sword.
No but seriously, as cool as it sounds I believe that the current state of chain weapons is terrible. While all of them have their unique problems that make them less than desirable in many scenarios, their iconic mechanic - the revved up attack - is flawed at its core. Dealing the brunt of its damage in the last tick is a terrible design choice given that to finalize the attack you need to pretty much stun yourself for 1-2s, an absurd requirement on higher difficulties.
If the special is fixed to eg. just deal steady damage until you cancel it/enemy dies, then perhaps I’d like such a weapon. As it stands, It’d likely be ditched quickly after the initial hype is over. Try making use of the juicy clinging attack mechanic when even the un-revved lights on Chainaxe Mk IV take too long to engage eg. Dreg Ragers safely.
