20-30 enemies can sneak behind us without giving any sound. Even when there aren’t battle sounds at all to conceal quieter sounds. This typically happens during hordes and it’s somewhat strange.
It’s okay when a few of them sneak upon us, but whole hordes?
On sounds I mean footsteps, clunks of weapons and shields, maybe war cries.
and
You could add a shout of triumph or laugh to common skavens when they backstab us dealing significant damage. Their thin voice would be more funny than annoying I guess.
A typical horde should start off with a sort of “battle cheer” (more like “leer” amirite?!) and the music kinda ramps up a bit. Im sure there is also a general noise when the “horde” is active.
I’m not against this…but I think priority should be given to fixing all the LOST voice lines first before adding any more in.
We’ve lost so many voicelines in this game both between players and enemies throughout the patches that FS doesn’t seem to recognize or care to fix. When’s the last time you heard a Ratling Gunners complain about foolish slaves and meat getting in his line of sight? Or any Globadiers lines at all?
On the hero side we lost so many different voices calls in response to specials. Like jabs when you save someone from a Packmaster. Or comments on Ungor Archers.
(on another note, to those who played since Day 1, was there any voice lines addressing the Maulers? Those marauders with great axes)
I doubt they would dedicate a person just to investigate what is missing. That’s a lot of work. Sounds can be played somehow outside of the game, there are such videos on YT. I’m afraid you shouldn’t expect any change unless you collect these lines and tell them in bug reports what to fix exactly, preferably with the name of the sound files if possible.
I don’t know how they did, but janfon1 definitely extracted them for his videos and Zigo adds extra lines to his videos. So if anyone is willing to do this job, they are the best starting point to ask. I mean this would be a job.
Just because I hear them in this clip doesn’t mean they have sound in other cases. Maybe because they aren’t part of any horde and I wrote about hordes. These are ambient enemies.
There´s basically two types of hordes if i am not dreaming, one is the very loud horde with bells/music and callouts right off the bat. Then there’s the ambush type where enemies pop out potentially right ontop you with no warning at all except directly seeing them with any luck.
I’ve also had the unfortunate experience of horde spawning behind silently a lot when playing any sniper& moving a bit too slowly. Then there’s a whole ass army there and one has to wonder if the elf ears are really just for show or if the torches by the ears is a good plan
Iv had this too! but… if there is no sound is that not a bug? There should be sound every time there is a horde from what Iv ever seen (unless its bugging ofc).
That’s a very general problem for almost all enemies I think.
Whenever there’s enough specials on the field some of them just straight up don’t make their sounds anymore. The most prominent for me are packmasters who are completely silent.
