This is what I was referring to. I think duplicating a boss with a different weapon would be lame, unless it was a variation and they got 3 boss types with 1 of them having 2 variations.
As other people have said before I don’t think a genestealer would be a mini boss but instead a normal if very frightening enemy type.
A GSC Patriarch is I believe literally a variant of a Broodlord. We could not have that as a mini boss in the slightest.
It could be really fun, if the attacks were mixed up more. Part of why the Captain Traitors are so interchangeable right now is their attacks being increadibly samey.
If a Genestealer with a hammer had a lot of ground-attacks with telegraphed AOE and a unique grab, while another one with a sword would actually combo attack fast with multiple attack patterns (some unblockable), you’d have a meaningful difference.
The way Fatshark has been designing bosses so far I just don’t see it happening too much.
Those would be appropriate monsters, like how VT2 has both the Storm Fiend and the Rat Ogre (Stormfiend being a sub genre of Rat Ogre) or how there is the leaked Toxgryn
Modulable is something they’ve introduced on Lords, here it would be more creating new monsters on the same “chassis” so to speak
Maybe
But definitely not this year the game definitely needs a whole lot mode added and addressed before a whole new enemy faction gets added.
Which is preferable I’d rather see the scavs and dregs get an expansion and actually do something with the story with captain wolfer before everything is thrown into even more turmoil with gsc presence becoming known.
no, they’re a form of murderous alien that’s super-good at melee and can implant victims with a pathogen that override their genetics with the genestealer’s own. their kids are ugly malformed hybrids and the need to protect said kids is massively ramped up by the pathogen, which eventually leads to the victims starting a cult of worship of the aliens.
the purpose of all this is to get enough hybrids to psychicly draw a massive fleet of aliens to the world to kill everyone.
Genestealers are not like Changelings. They cannot change their appearance. It’s a human cult that has been spliced with alien DNA, so they usually hide their appearance with face masks and rags. The least mutated will either have no visible mutations or most commonly be bald and have ridges above their eyes. The most mutated will have horribly alien appearances, with multiple arms and horrible, purple elongated heads.
So while all about deception, they cannot change their physical appearance. The main way they infiltrate organizations is a combinations of cultists who look “human enough” and clandestinely eliminating those who either figure them out or are in high ranking positions so they can be replaced with Cult members.
Genestealer Cultists are typically armed and equipped with scavenged, looted, or legitimately obtained and requisitioned Imperial equipment.
It’s not that our Rejects are somehow obtaining gear meant for Genestealer Cultists, it’s that Genestealer Cultists are somehow obtaining our equipment.
That’s a standard Imperial issue facemask and means nothing.
Killing off or at least weakening local pdf forces to make consuming the planet that much easier and faster costing less bio mass to do so for the hive fleet
