Hey there,
I am also having issues with the launcher. It launches then instantly crashes. I managed to find a work around but now when the game boots up i get the backend error message. I have tried everything under the sun. Verifying game files, uninstalling and reinstalling, updating drivers, restarting my PC, checked other help tickets. Nothing has worked. I have never got the game to open and run properly. any help would be appreciated.

In case this was a temporary issue, are you still encountering sign-in issues now?
If so, please could you provide us with your most recent console log and launcher log so we can take a look:

Thanks!

There are no launcher logs as the game has never launched properly. But this is the console logs.
Let me know if you need anything else.
I can see a sign-in error, stating “Steam is not available”. Are you trying to launch via Steam? and then through the launcher?
You mentioned a workaround - if this is bypassing Steam or the launcher, please revert this.
If you can provide an additional crash report after for comparison that would be helpful to see. Thanks!
I tried launching again from steam. The warhammer screen pops up for a moment and then immediately closes. I do not get a crash screen after wards. I searched for a log in the app data files but there were none.
darktide_launcher.log (103.5 KB)
I found this. Not sure if it helps though.
There seems to be a few things failing from the launcher log. Can you please try the following:
- Repairing your .NET Framework 4.7.2 installation:
- Please download .NET Framework 4.7.2 from the Microsoft website linked below. The installer should then prompt you with an option to repair your installation. Be sure to restart your PC afterwards!: Download .NET Framework 4.7.2 | .NET
- If an error is displayed referencing that a later update is already installed, instead download and run the .NET Framework Repair Tool from the Microsoft website: https://www.microsoft.com/en-GB/download/details.aspx?id=30135
Failing the above,
Please let me know how this goes. If the issue persists still, please can you provide an updated launcher log for comparison - and check again to see if any console log is generated. Thanks!
I did everything and still the same issue. It launches for a second and immediately closes.
Here is the second launcher log. there were no console logs.

- Go to AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide and provide your
user_settings.config please
- Say unless you got three monitors connected, would it be possible for you to remove the two
Generic PnP Monitors via device manager, check if the launcher detects them and try running the game via launcher if not?
I’m not 100% sure this is it, however the monitor thingy you got going is fairly irregular and that’s before i’m willing to ponder about how ready the launcher is to accept 1080x1920 resolution monitor (but i would guess probably not)!
On the side note, both the game and laucher act like they can’t access the AppData\Roaming\Fatshark\Darktide

Here it entirely skips the user_settings.config like it doesn’t exist!
Is it possible that there is some form of permissions being at play? Or that the file actually exists to begin with?
