Game performance seems significantly worse after the last patch

No, the network has nothing to do with your performance (frame rate).

What? Yes, network I/O is separate from fps. Hopefully I made it clear in my above comments that I was having issues with both network I/O and fps? If you’re just arguing about how the word “performance” is defined, please stop; I’ve already clarified exactly what I was referring to.

The game has been running poorly for me now too for 2 or 3 days. No idea what changed. I’ve noticed there have been several small “stealth” patches (about 9mb download) recently that aren’t part of the patchnotes, at least for the experimental build. I’ll go back to normal build and check out if it makes any difference.

I absolutely agree all of you about performance. Especially in Hab-Dreyko, fps drops suddenly and it is very annoying. GPU usage is around % 90-99 most of the time but sometimes it drops %75-80 without no reason.

I tried every solution on the internet. Even reinstalling the game too. I only open steam when I play Darktide. Anyhing else is closed. Not using MSI Afterburner or any software.

My CPU is 10600K and temp is 45C in most games and my graphics card is Zotac RTX 306012gb, temp is 55-60C in most games.

It seems that all of our attempts to play the game stable will be inconclusive. It’s fatshark that needs to optimize this game properly, no one else. I’m playing dying light 2, forza 5 with the same system, gpu usage is 99% and there is a stable and fluent fps all the time.

Darktide game needs serious optimization.

i made a post about these performance issues once. the stuttery animations are the result of bad frametimes which is also displayed very nicely in a video that i linked here:

the exact timeframe in the video starts at 11:18

This is a shame for Fatshark. You have RTX 4090 and you have problems too. with that graphics card… That’s very terrible. Game needs optimization immediately…

Yes, I’ve noticed that Hab Dreyko seems especially bad for some reason – both in terms of FPS drops as well as performance issues that are seemingly unrelated to FPS. I have no idea what causes this, but it does not seem to occur in the other Transit Hub missions (Chasm Station & Chasm Logistratum), just Hab Dreyko.

Yes, exactly! There’s a pronounced “stutter” which doesn’t seem directly related to FPS – in many cases I’m getting 50-60 FPS (as reported by the Geforce Experience overlay) but the animations are nevertheless terribly jerky and general game performance is awful. The stuttering seems to roughly correlate with other shenanigans like hits not registering, random disconnects, etc. which makes me think it might be a server performance issue.

New update and performance seems to be worse again. No clue what sorcery this spaghetti code magic is, but we talk about frame drops from 110 down to 50.

Big cause for this is definitely the VFX effects. Other drops seem to be caused by certain level geometry being loaded or advancing the level.
This is very annoying. Stability should be highest priority for them to patch. It can’t be that I am struggling with a new RTX 3070 Ti.

Still getting weapon switch rubber banding (Try and switch, it flicks back). This issue definitely needs serious addressing. I have completely stopped playing because of it.
