Game overheating the GPU and crashing

Issue Description (Required):

My PC has a two years old 3070ti and the game can run for about twenty minutes give or take if the PC has been running or just started. While running it has an average fps of 60 and is capped at 60, however the frames drop to about 40 when flicking the camera around too much. Additionally, I keep the graphics settings low and some on medium because they otherwise look too weird. However, after just about the twenty minute mark, the GPU has gotten too hot and then crashes and my PC has to restart, and out of the countless (20+) crashes has only submitted two or three crash reports after rebooting.

When running, the task manager reports about 44-65% GPU usage and has a steady 40-50% CPU usage. However the GPU usage will occasionally spike to 100% very inconsistently, and will slowly climb past the 65% typical usage rate in the last few minutes before it finally crashes.

The Warranty is out and I do overclock my PC. However, I only overclock it to run the fans at 100% and leave all other settings alone.

Attempted Solutions (Optional):

I have turned on and off the FSR 3 settings, I have enabled and disabled Nvidia Reflex with and without boost, I have tinkered with DLSS settings, and have even tried placing my GPU in the second slot to see if that might be the issue. I plan to get the PC checked by a computer specialist that I know, but considering that this is the only game on my PC that does this, I can only assume that it’s the game itself with the issue.

Platform (Required):

PC - Steam

  1. make sure the resolution is correct and you’re not upscaling

then you should provide crash reports and console logs:
win+r type in: %appdata% /fatshark/darktide/crashdump :repeat: console_logs
and lastly provide DxScan
win+r type DxDiag confirm-> save top clipboard

Hope yer get help soon
