Hello, so I have the game on Steam and is installed on an NVMe SSD, Steam is installed on a different SSD. In today’s update though, 25 March, my old mechanical HDD is being used during the “updating files” phase of the Steam updating process and I don’t understand why. It takes ages and does that horrible mechanical sound that it usually do when it’s being worked.
Any idea why the HDD is being used, when the game is installed on the NVMe and Steam itself is installed on a different SSD? Windows is installed on a 3rd SSD, the only connection that the old HDD has to Steam, is that sometimes I install games there that don’t benefit from being on an SSD, but Darktide currently is installed on the NVMe.
Also I like to note that currently the NVMe has 38 GB free, out of 931 GB available, could this be a possible issue?
Screenshot shows that during the “updating files” phase on Steam, only the HDD is being used
