Hey,
I have encountered a very weird crash for a few times now. I mean the game is pretty unstable on my pc anway but this is new.
Randomly during play, but very often when a mission finishes, the screen just goes black and i hear the sound registering an unplugging of a connected device. After a pc restard, everything is working again, but when I start the game there is an insane amount of stutter, like the grafik card isnt able to handle it. I went to the AMD adrenaline software to check the status of the card, but the software doesnt open, because it doesnt know the driver.
After uninstalling the driver and reinstalling it adrenaline and darktide work fine again. I had to do this I think around 6 times now.
Specs here: Card: AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT chip: AMD Ryzen 5 3600x latest drivers for both

I can point you towards my post about how I fixed my GPU driver crashes though I’m not sure exactly which thing I changed that did it. Still it’s worth looking at for things like making sure your old GPU driver is properly wiped with AMD’s cleanup utility and reinstalling the game plus deleting the leftover folders.
I’ve shared a similar report with our contacts at AMD and will add this to it. In the meantime, you may wish to reach out to AMD Support directly for a quicker response turnaround.
The error still persist, even after following most of the steps, the ones I knew how to do, from the post of @DashHandsome. Thank you for the guide anyway tho.
It also kind of evolved into crashing my entire PC. Like it switches off and everyting. Here is a crash report from when it happened last.

Weird that the two people I recommended it two didn’t work for them but it didn’t work for me. I plan on doing another full reinstall later tonight (chipset drivers included) to try to fix a different bug. If it works I’ll also try undoing some of the things I changed like memory integrity and see if I start crashing again. I’d like to have something for one of the fatshark people to get back to on Monday.
It seems to be AMD specific. Everything else I play is fine and crash free. Besides Helldivers which is also on the same engine but I haven’t played it in a while.
Might be that Windows “updates” (replaces) the AMD driver with one from the Windows update after the crash. To disable that behavior follow these steps:
Control Panel → System → Advanced System Settings → Hardware tab → Device Installation Settings → Select “No” → Save Change
Yeah its the PC I do most of my work on. Benchmarks etc. run fine so I dont think its power related. Also there is no other game that crashes like that even other intense titles.
When the crash occours I can see a small pop-up window with the title “fatal error” but I havent been able to see what else is written there because it shuts down my PC. I also do think, that it is AMD related like @DashHandsome suggested. Kinda sad, I love that game.
This happend to me each day that i played since that post at least once.
I will now try and do the driver fix @FatsharkJulia suggested and come back in a few days to talk about the results.
I actually ended up using DDU to wipe my drivers while offline as well as the fix above and I’ve been crash free since (aside from two cases where I and another person crashed but I’ve seen that happen to a lot of people so maybe it’s a loading error)
A friend seems to be crash free so far since I walked her through it but it’s only been one day so we’ll see.
If you’d like I can write a guide for how to do it tomorrow because there’s also some other windows settings I recommend changing plus a few other things you have to do beforehand (and yea, it’s windows messing with things causing problems, go figure)
Not sure where I’d put it though. Maybe performance feedback since it doesn’t require devs to help. Ideally I’d be able to write something good enough that the devs could point other people to but I also don’t know their stance on using 3rd party software like DDU but I could also do a variation with the AMD driver cleanup utility.
Following yalls` advice I tried some things with the clean up tool from AMD and was crash free from a long time. The Endscreen of a match destroyed my graphics driver again though which is very unfortunate. May I get the guide for DDU ? Maybe that works better ?
I dont know, kinda lost at this point. I am contemplating doing a clean windows install just to see if it is a problem with this installation or my graphics card in general.
