FS: If you need more money, I'd rather you put out some cosmetics for money than bother with console ports

I understand the scepticism - we’ve a lot of trust to rebuild and I will make it my mission to rebuild it in the capacity I can. Ideally I’d like us to focus on channelling our conversation in these forums, but right now it can feel a little like an echo-chamber, which is why you find interaction spread around. We don’t have as many users on our official forums (they’re only a few months old) as in other channels, and until now there has just been one of me. Once we get @FatsharkJulia more onboarded, hopefully we can improve on all fronts. We’re handling community engagement and customer support alone, and it’s a 9-22 job and can rapidly consume lives, but we’ll get there.

I know you’re all incredibly invested in ‘the Vermintide project’ and I’m so thankful for that. I just don’t want you to think we take it for granted because we don’t. It can just be very all-consuming and whew… I wouldn’t change it for the world. I’d love to talk about it over a beer or 20 and add some context to what happens in and out of the Shark Tank.

Thank you for coming to an understanding, and understanding the community’s frustration. Again, do not think that we take this for granted, we don’t. Everyone appreciates you and your work. Just please don’t forget that those toxic few that try to antagonize you, are not the majority. I’m sure that the rest of the player base does indeed appreciate you and just wants the game to succeed.

I’ll take you up on that beer/beers next time I’m in Stockholm :stuck_out_tongue: Or if you find yourself up in Gävle, hit me up.

Thanks for taking the time to respond to the communities concerns. Frequent updates would go a long way to calming everyone down. No one seems to know what is going on, and ofc you got the console rivalry. PC gamers have constantly been screwed over by Devs in the past who decide to port their product to consoles before even finishing the PC version. Not saying you guys are doing this, but many other games have. A lot of times they won’t even release the PC version until the console versions are out.

Thanks again and I’m looking forward to FSJulia getting on here to help out. I’m sure you are as well.

I bet Hedge has some great stories lol, poor guy has such a thankless Job (Besides the handful across the threads, I’m sure the amount of hatemail-support is quite skewed).

So heres something I’ve been wondering about, what happens when Console launch happens? The games in a fairly buggy state still so are you hoping to iron any large bugs out in the console beta? My understanding with cross-platform development is that its cheapest to port a finished build over rather then develop simultaneously?

You tell the community to “Try to be fu*cking adults”, directly proceeded by “Degenerates”.

Just adding some positives notes here:

  • The full game is half the price of typical releases ($40/$60).
  • They switched gears from a revenue generating DLC to fixing/polishing the main game (non-revenue generating projects).
  • The console release was always planned- there’s no indication it was a cash grab after the PC release.
  • The community manager actually comes out to play regardless of how much venom is spit at them.
  • They are interacting with the community.
  • They’ve admitted in public many of the mistakes they’ve made in the development of this already.
  • This isn’t EA or Ubisoft.

Just saying they’ve had a lot of opportunities to nickel and dime customers here that they’ve passed up.

is it even doable to do legend insta gib + double dmg deeds on a console?

i have not owned a console since i left highschool with me old PS2 LOL

cant play fps with a controller no matter how hard i try XD

It sure is. It’s not easy, but we’ve seen some absolute units during the XB1 beta. One of the chaps from V1 on Xbone has around 4000 or more hours and could play through on Cataclysm blindfold and is repeating history again in V2.

One of my friends uses controller on PC and just wrecks things. He does tend to go more melee focus so I think that helps.

That’s the issue and it’s the same in any multiplatform game. E.g. Take a look at Battleborn forum and you’d find a lot of console players QQing that certain melee characters are too strong and certain ranged characters are too weak when they’re actually all pretty balanced on kbm.
