Hi, french translation is really bad. I’m not super fluent in english and not all my friends are, but we need a big improvement. It’s like everything was translated from the google translation grinder. I don’t how it is so far for other languages.
I hope you guys will hire people to review whats wrong and work on corrections. Some descriptions and labels are just silly.
Anyway game is great, love it ! Thanks sharky !
Hello,
I’m also suprised by translation choice. it’s just litteral translation, without context. That could be better.
I propose you a list just to note the possible differences
Enemy :
- Poxwalker : in french “Scrofuleux”. Nobody use this word… its difficult to pronounce, impossible to shout. An official translation exist already, in games workshop games : “Portepeste” Is more usual and simple
-Groaners = Grogneurs . nothing to say on that
-Scab something = quelquechose “squameux”. Same here : squameux, except doctors, noboby use that. word nearest would be “galeux” .
But in English the word scab is also an insult, which we do not have in French in these terms. Maybe it’s would be easier and simple if the all family of “scabs” wer “traîtres” (traitor) because, there are all Moebian 6th soldiers on the Nurgle side behind the “scab” word.
-Dreg something = qulequechose “sale” (dirty). Seriously ? we fight against dirty people… in fact it’s the same problem than “scab” in english this word is for a garbage and for an insult… not in french. the nearest word can be “pouilleux” (somebody covered in lice) because it’s also an insult in french
-Pox Hound = cerbère vérolé. it’s ok, that can be “Cerbère Pestiféré” or “Cerbère de la peste” to keep the pox idea, but with vérolé we are on the same lexic.
For the other enemy, or le “something” after the Dreg or Scab, All it’s clear and well chosen.
If that can be help.
