Just two more well received event modifiers that are relegated to nothingness until maybe one day they make it to Havoc for a handful of people to play.
I echo these pull quotes. Both these events were incredibly fun twists to the gameās stale formula, regardless of the very welcome aquila reward.
Itās really sad to see old (or not so old) posts with such simple changes for the game that would simply bring more life to it and that are simply ignored⦠I play on the South America server and most of my missions are solo or duo unless I wait a long time to form a team. Havoc 40? Very difficult to find enough people. Expeditions? Nobody plays them. Maelstorm is equally empty. When I meet old players, most say theyāre tired of the same mission modifiers and are simply going to play something else (or are simply tired of the bugs, crashes, aborted missions, etc.).
The saddest part is the work is already done. Unlike some posts, Iām not pitching new ideas that require more dev time. Just put the damn things back in the game via the modifier mechanism already in place.
And if youāre going to sunset anything, retire flucking dogs at this point.
No itās not! What about all the icons theyāll have to make to signify which modifier is which?! It all used to be an Inquisition symbol as a symbol of an event.
But now? Imagine how much hard work and long grueling hours will need to be put in to have an icon for each and every single one of the modifiers.
Unbelievable⦠How could you be so cruel to this small indie studio? They only have 100+ employees and obligatory days off! Be grateful for what you have and go play another 500 hours of DogTide!
frankly, itās just unbelievable. something as simple as picking modifiers is a decades old feature in games, yet darktide doesnāt allow it. same as having a single player campaign, btw. you still get a set of modifiers you have not asked for, so you can either play with them or wait for another rotation. this all aligns with this weird fascination for not giving players agency but having them depend on RNG. the worst of it, hadronās brick factory, is luckily history, but thereās still the RNG weapon base, curio availability, and this RNG on what modifiers one plays with. to top it off, thereās not one explanation why this is still the case. is it because of issues with server load? matchmaking? thereās not one understandable statement on this iirc. maybe you get a āwe heard you and are discussing this internallyā if thereās any response at all.
I appreciate people that want full custom lobbies, 100%. But Iām not even asking for that.

I never played destiny, but I heard of the sunsetting since it was such a ripple in gaming news. But DT is my first game of any type that I watched devs sunset their own work in real time.
I canāt think of any other game that has a similar modifier system that doesnāt put them into an existing rotation after a featured introduction.
As someone that was looking forward to chaos wastes, when i heard expeditions are just normal missions but helldivers⦠I couldnt even be bothered to boot up the game.
For the past 10 months now? a year and a half? Iāve only booted up the game like 5-10ish times, and every time i stopped playing after 1-2 games for 1 reason :
Its all the same $hit iāve been playing since the launch of the game.
There is 1 simple fix to this : releasing the modifiers. Not even the new classes were able to bring me back to playing because the problem is with the core gameplay.
Modifiers is what the game needs right now the most.
I love the game, and i want to play it again, but theres only so many times one can play the exact same thing.
Release the modifiers fatshark, please.
If you were to wager a guess, what do you think is the reason for the modifiers not being reused by being out into standard rotation? It seems like an easy way to boost player engagement with the game in a āyou never know what youāll get this timeā way. So why not do it? Lack of communication between the playerbase and the devs?
My opinion at this point would not be nice or flattering, so Iāll let you infer.
Iām currently trying to see it as a small victory that we got blight spreads in expeditions because it marks the first time a previous event modifier that was relegated to Havoc has made it back into another mode, potentially, hopefully (I know, Iām stupid) making way for others to do the same.
No I donāt count the handful of M21st mixing in hordes. Not the same as an entire, abnormally dense horde of M21st. Donāt think Iām forgetting anything else.
