So stuff like this is where people get the weird idea that increasing FoV is bad, or that frame generation is a good idea or that capping your fps to refresh rate is somehow necessary on games that don’t have weird bugs or input lag with an uncapped framerate.
Now that is interesting. Explains why I don’t get the same lag people complain about when hordes spawn, cause all my settings are on lowest.
It’s such a CPU bound game, even with lowest graphics feel 120fps won’t be stable.
Darktide might fare better with SMT/Hyperthreading off in bios. I’ve tried with process lasso and windows CPU affinity command, but frame times not as good as turned off in bios.
From DSO gaming website. Shows 6 or 8 core might benefit. But not 4 core.
Of course this will harm performance in other games which are more multi threaded/make use of more threads. i.e Racing games, flight sim, open world, paradox strategy games etc
Problem with a lot of YouTubers they do tests like this 4800Mhz vs 6000Mhz tuned with max trefi RAM. Then they say it makes no difference.
Yeah the latency will always feel better. It’s like going back and playing half life on an rtx 5080, it’ll feel better at the same max framerate of your monitor than a game that runs at a third of the framerate.
Will be interesting to see what hardware unboxed does with animation error testing.
