after 1400 hours, honored jury, it happened to me too:
while the beginning of the match was okay-ish, it soon proofed the only way to get through successfully was to cut off a dude in a “less than friendly way”
so without further ado here’s the video in question with the question ( ) of your opinion.
starting at 8:10, being in a less than favourable position, buddy and i kindly asked mutliple times to drop the health.
seeing both the “zealot-playstyle” and getting bogged down in a choke point with little ammo and less health, the “not necessary” at the premise needlessly going downed both lead to “drastic” measures, that ultimately saved the run.
ironically “not necessary” was soon accompanied by going down himself, taking him out of the healing potential due to corruption.
yes i know “zealot” and yes i know medstation around 300 metes ahead.
but with all to our disposal being getting healed up, pick the 4th guy up together and get to a less contested zone, i didnt see it happen without us both getting down unecessary.
As a Member of the Forum Council, I declare that Index did nothing wrong.
Index was being an exemplary Teammate by thinking about everyone, and all they did to incur such scorn was ask for another Player to drop a Med Crate during an entirely necessary moment. All of this unpleasantness would’ve been avoided if the other Player just did their job and deployed the damn Med Crate.
Esteemed colleagues, who do you think was in the right? I initiate this Poll in the name of Democracy:
Not only would I have done the exact same thing, I would probably teabag his dying body to really drive the point home.
This is why deployables should be picked up by the one who is more likely to need it whenever possible. If he’s a zealot that doesn’t care about health values, then defer the medpacks to someone who does. Same thing with ammo crates. It drives me nuts when I see staff psykers pick up ammo crates when there are several other team members who would be better suited to carrying it as they know better when they actually need it.
As a Representative of SENTIENT Staff Psykers, I love to keep an eye on my Teammates’ Ammo and actively seek out Ammo Pickups for them whenever possible. If my Teammates are critically low on Ammo and there aren’t enough nearby Pickups, I will drop the Ammo Crate for them. Simple as.

Well since I can’t downvote either of you, I decided to vote for the toxic zealot just to be a contrarian forum rat.
I kid OFC, but I’ll let the vote stand for larfs.
I couldn’t resist, consider it a proxy vote for your downvoting Reddit stalkers.
P.S. I changed my vote as my proxy vote was no longer needed, evidently.
anyways callouts in this game are so unnoticiable, i forget about medicbags even now
though you not picking him up is way worse than refusing to drop a medic bag, even if he hadn’t more than 2 brain cells nobody deserve that grifter treatment, you only showed less maturity than him
Zealot is the class I play the most frequently in this game, and especially as that class when it comes to ammo and health-crates; if I end up picking either up, I strive to give away the item to the other person in the strike team I see could need it more than me.
Yes. I actually use the “give away item”-action for health and ammo crates.
As a zealot, I am much better off dodging death than say an ogryn or a psyker - hence I give health crate responsibility to those. A veteran is naturally more in need of ammo overall than me, hence I give ammo crate to veteran.
Of course at the end of the day, I do this when I see I can trust my strike team to do sound decisions though - I am not donating health and ammo crates left and right, but my core point here should be pretty adamant.
And yes, I believe “toxic zealot” was being either blind and deaf or actually just stupid. The strike team needed to top up their wounds, it would be a just sound decision to deploy.
It’s not a question of maturity, it’s a matter of practicality. 2 out if 3 team members needed healing but the 3rd man refuses to drop it. This does not eliminate the need for healing. Reviving him would prolong the situation, letting him die and deploying the meds solves it.
I would go for the middle. Reasonable dck move so dck-ish.
Index, I was lurking the forum for quite long time and I know from your post history that you are a good guy and a skilled gamer.
The zealot was playing dumb. The medipack was not his and he was supposed to use it for the team. He also clearly got the message.
But blowing a poxburster onto his face and not picking him up… A low blow dawri. Not worthy of the Darktide elite.
I would dare to say, that you and Pirx were able to go for the rescue later on even without the medipack as the last dude spawned literally 50m in front of you and the pressure was already dropping. Heck, you two could true duo it from what I’ve seen from other runs you have posted.
I could see this as being a complete accident on Index’s part, and one that’s not entirely their fault as the Zealot DID proceed to get right in that Poxburster’s face when Index had it under control.
But not picking them up, while cruel, was probably the right thing to do because that Zealot CLEARLY had no plans of doing their job in that instance.
On the one hand, bit of a d1rk move to let them die.
On the other, why wouldnt they just drop the pack, especially if they are a low health zealot.
In that situation, I would have picked him up anyway because Im like that, but if I was him I would also have put it down.
So Imma err on the side of Index here, because the amount of times people put medkits down at the slightest bit of health gone OR not put a kit down even though its clearly worth it… is why I often try and pick the kits up myself.
I personally would have held off for the med station right down the steps, and the rescue point was right there, but the zealot was kinda asking for it as 2 people wanted the meds. Cruel or no, crap like that begs for a teachable moment.
The 2nd pox in the back was easy to miss and it seemed like an honest mistake. But holy grut, that’s what pinging mobs is for! As that 1 random dude’s in VT2 named “TagSh!tYaHeretics” name implied, tag sh!it ya heretics!
P.S. I changed my vote as my proxy was no longer needed.
