Flawless Execution Penance Rework Idea

Hi Devs,

Overall, great game. Absolutely love it.

Flawless Execution is giving a lot of people grief in its current state though - I have an idea that would smooth this over.

At present:
Currently you can potentially play through hundreds of hours without progressing this penance. You could play 20 games without going down and not progress it at all if matchmaking has put you in games that have already started (even if it’s right at the beginning, like most games are). Or, like me, play 10 games flawlessly have penance progress at 4/5, then go down in the 11th game which wouldn’t have counted anyway because I joined midgame. Progress lost. I understand why this is the case though, because no one wants people to cheese penances.

Alternative:
Rather than requiring players to complete missions from the beginning, change the model to elites/specials killed or even damage done to elites/specials. This would mean that it’s very hard to cheese, it would reward skill, and every mission would contribute to progress.

E.g.

  1. Flawless Execution (1): Kill 25 elites or specials without going down or deal 5,000 damage to elites or specials without going down.
  2. Flawless Execution (2): Kill 50 elites or specials without going down or deal 10,000 damage to elites or specials without going down.
  3. Flawless Execution (3): Kill 100 elites or specials without going down or deal 20,000 damage to elites or specials without going down. [earn reward]

I don’t know about the balance of the above example but you get the idea.

Thank you for pointing that out. At least now I know the reason why it failed to progress.
