Holy smokes I love the helbores but why do I need to fondle it every time I pull it out? I tried using another word here but yay censorship.
Bolter is almost as bad. I somehow need to give it a little smack….maybe for encouragement?
I’ve been playing Psyker almost exclusively due to my fav vet weapons being clunky, crap ammo economy etc. Don’t even miss it. Voidstrike / smite works great in Auric.
I tried it out for the first time the other day, and I felt the same way.
Took forever to pull it out, then I had to charge a shot just to have an ogryn block it, and by that point stuff was in melee so I had to put it away ;-; feels like a weapon for masochists
This is balanced. The Boltgun can magdump almost instantly, as well as having incredibly high dps.
I wouldn’t mind the boltgun having 2 extra reserve magazines so it has 100 reserve ammo without needing the reloaded and ready talent (or whatever its called, the extra ammo one) to always get 1 shot back on elite or specialist kill. However even with its current ammo economy it is still easily one of Vets best ranged weapons for Auris Damnation missions.
I think you should do the current animation for the first time you pull it out, then the rest of the times you should just pull it out quickly. I mean, I severely doubt that my Cadian Vet really cares about the safety switch, especially not when it comes to killing those who follow the archenemy that took her world from her.
The plasma gun feels less “weighty” than the Helbore, and it really shouldn’t be that way. The Helbore is a moderately-weighted Lasrifle that is issued to countless soldiers, whilst the Plasma Gun is a destructive weapon that very few normal humans ever manage to wield easily.
