after getting my first match messed up by steam recording, finally i can show some kickback and pickaxe action in havoc 40.

Not done havoc really.

Is it fair to say the strategy is fairly vanilla?

You hold out in a psyker shield. Wait to allow the cool down, then zealot pushes forwards with crucifix chant special, then psyker drops a shield again?

Rinse repeat?

bit confused, you havent played havoc or me playing havoc with psyker and zealot means the performance is null and void?

the main “issue” would be even finding a random team without zealot/psyker to play “unorthodox”
if i host few if any apply with me being ogryn, i “reject” the “vital” classes the others jump ship.
if i apply for a havoc 40 usually theres a zealot/psyker already or incoming and me being the “filler/to big to fail(?)”

now as for the most effective strategy: books and bubbles no doubt, stunning enemies and giving cover, killing stuff in between.
what i try to do is sliding in and out of cover while being as fast as possible with whacking them heretics.
makes for a lot more pleasing experience personally and them bubbles aint staying up forever anyways.

there is a safety net in redundance though i might argue i did more than my part on the offensive front in that match, making up for the second bubble, plus upkeeping as much momentum as possible.

it does get tricky when theres no communication and you need to adapt to your mates behaviours, certain talents can slow down encounters to a point such adapting aint necessary in the first place.

so that might be the vanilla appeal.

in short, with randoms either bubble/book or voice of command is a vital part but either one can make encounters doable without coms.
psyker pops a bubble when theres no retreat from gunners or creating a push-foothold, zealot brings toughness up and stuns/push back elites/bosses.
so much, so vanilla.

me earning rashuns is rather not, usually ogryn pick shield when alone.
reginald posted a great 4 ogryn havoc 40 match, so it is possible (albeit not for your common rando) to get through with this setting just as well.
