Hello I am a Korean player who enjoys Havoc very much
I always wanted to clear it with 2 players and I finally achieved my goal!
I went with psyker and ogryn for the combination and I think it would be very hard to clear without those classes.
Class balance in Havoc.
I think zealot and veteran are underpowered in Havoc
Especially zealot, the ‘Chorus of Spiritual Endurance’ skill is great, but aside from that
I think they are underpowered for a melee oriented class.
While ogryn and psyker can be played with their class specialties,
veteran and zealot are pretty much forced to be supporter builds in Havoc
I think the concept of both classes is to be great ranged and melee dealers
but in practice they are more focused on team survivability than dealing damage
Hopefully this will be addressed in the upcoming skill tree rework
Good stuff bigman! having a great duo , or player that stays close is so powerful. Maybe they should add a duo que to really stick it to the solo players.
Well, here are the reasons why I believe Veteran struggles to perform in Havoc:
The inherent ammo scarcity due to Havoc’s debuff makes it hard to maintain ranged pressure.
Compared to skills like Exhilarating Takedown or Infiltrate, temporary toughness generation abilities are generally much more valuable.
While not currently present, debuffs like “Gunk” (which reduce ranged damage) would be devastating for Veteran.
To truly reach high damage potential, you’re pretty much forced to run the Weapon Specialist keystone.
I think I may have caused some misunderstanding by describing the class as too weak.
That said, I still believe Veteran has a hard time competing with Ogryn or Psyker in terms of ranged DPS when playing the pure damage role.
It’s okay make a melee build, and use something like hellbore/plasma only against specials/gunners and don’t shoot anything else
Confirmed Kill + Catch a Breath + Iron Will + Close Drill Orders + Shout essentially makes your toughness nearly unbreakable, to the point that You don’t need a single +20% gunner res curio
It’s okay make a melee build
Wrong, Best option he has is Focus Target for Havoc
I agree with most of what you said.
What I meant to express is that it’s unfortunate how the Veteran class faces so many limitations when trying to fully realize its intended fantasy as a powerful ranged damage dealer.
That said, it’s hard to argue against Focus Target being the best option.
I’ve streamed and played alongside several Korean players with thousands of hours in the game, and in our experience, the highest-performing damage-focused builds typically involve running the Duelist Sword or Power Sword paired with a Plasma Gun, using the Weapon Specialist keystone.
now please tell me the stuff we see on netflix series where people take a beating because the other is “their elder” is comedic exaggeration
that stuff is irritating as hell to watch to the point of spoiling a potential good movie, series.
around here if a dude or old fart would get in your face for show off reasons, he´d either regret it dearly in the next hospital or dont regret it anymore at all
I understand you find that trope frustrating, but I hope you realize it’s not how all Koreans think or behave. Sometimes fiction exaggerates things for dramatic or comedic effect.
figured as much, people think “german” and man the anti air defense
the question rose cause it was in about every series i watched so far (and there´s a ton of good ones i must admit )
The Arbites class is certainly viable, and there are already plenty of Arbites players in Havoc parties across the Asia region.
That said, most Korean players tend to describe the class as “somewhat awkward” in the current meta.
A common opinion is that its role overlaps heavily with the Veteran. From my experience, it offers similar elite and special-handling capabilities, and thanks to its many damage-boosting skills, Arbites can feel very powerful.
It also has excellent crowd control thanks to multiple AoE CC abilities. Personally, I’d describe the class as something like a hybrid between a Veteran and an Ogryn.
However…
Despite its intimidating appearance, Arbites lacks reliable damage reduction. Aside from Castigator’s Stance, it has very few damage mitigation tools compared to other classes, and the ones it does have tend to be conditional. As a result, when exposed to ranged fire, it can feel as fragile as a Psyker.
On top of that, aside from Nuncio-Aquila, Arbites doesn’t offer much in the way of direct team utility. This makes it difficult to justify as a replacement for one of the existing core classes.
In order to play Havoc effectively, Ogryn and Psyker are considered nearly irreplaceable due to their unique roles.
Meanwhile, both Zealot and Veteran offer overwhelming utility, so most players still believe sticking with the original four classes is the optimal choice for Havoc.
Yeah with pretty much two builds and one set of weapons, which are DS 4 and plasma. Maybe 0.1% of players can me use of other ults, auras, marksman keystone. That’s not good and plasma along with sword will get nerfs which will reduce vet to be a yellow toughness and ammo printer.
