jiggle physics?
Mhm, mhm…
So many arguments on the internet fall under this banner
I too would love more customisation! Iv been tempted by the “for the drip” mod but I dont want to use mods and also if others cant see my drip, why drip at all?!
if anything that would be a tremendous feat.
i mean we all were younger at one point in time, but after 10x it really starts to hurt…
to be able to 24/7 would rather get the girls excited don´t you think
And the ability to choose eyerbrows type separetely.
Also hair styles being determined by class is lame and shouldn’t be a thing (not counting ogryn).
that’s a good point, as eyebrows change a lot in how a face appears.
If we’re so expendable then how come everyone looks like they’re over 40? How do they even manage to live that long?
What a year in Tancred Bastion does to a person.
Applying logic to WH40k looks the same like trying to apply logical argument/explanation why protagonist of anime can survive 10 minutes monologue with 20cm diameter hole in chest after bleeding 20 liters of blood in first 2 seconds getting that hole and still continue to bleed
Wh40k like many other settings is absurd and absolutely nonsense. It’s definition of “Form Over Substance” and that’s cool becasue that’s why I like WH40k.
Exactly! It’s not as if Warhammer is a fantasy or something… oh wait.
Same way tons of people in their 40’s and 50’s are dying in meat-wave assaults in Donbas right now. The average age of someone signing a military contract for the Russian army is now nearly 50 and many of them are dying within weeks of joining. The game offers a ton of backstories during character creation as to how our characters got to where they were, they weren’t always prisoners. Just because you’re expendable now doesn’t mean there was a need to expend you before. Some people rot in prison for years or decades before being put into the meatgrinder. Sometimes one was more important at earlier stages in life, or are facing life pressures that incentives to fight may alleviate even if one dies. Sometimes life choices/events can make someone look way older than they otherwise would, drugs or hard labor for example. All sorts of reasons characters from a prisoner background would tend to look older.
Cadians are conscripted into the White Shields at age 16. But their lives are entirely military focused from the point they are born so that may skew it a bit.
In 15 Hours the protagonist is 17 when he is conscripted.
the Tanith seemed to range from young men in their 20s to old dudes who complained who complained their bones ached all the time. But most would be in their 20-30.
The reason the Russian military is so old right now is because they’re scraping the barrel in terms of manpower. The Imperium and its million worlds do not have that problem. Remember how only the best members of the PDF are actually recruited by the guard?
" Perhaps most importantly, there is the Imperial Tithe. Based upon archaic criteria assessed by Administratum and Departmento Munitorum officials, each world capable of doing so must provide one tenth of its total military force to fight for the Astra Militarum. It is an offence punishable by death for a governor to supply substandard soldiery when the tithe is exacted, or to provide insufficient numbers. Furthermore, it is a capital offence should these soldiers lack proper uniforms, sufficient training, or appropriate levels of genetic purity."
“For these reasons, though some worlds recruit by caste, population density, geography or even lottery, most governors are given to pouring their best troops into such regimental foundings. This is less out of a sense of altruism or duty than it is an ongoing effort of self-preservation.”
@Molonious @BlueRiddle
How many times people now used the “we’re soldiers” and “we’re prisoners” excuse… Im not even gonna honor it with a fresh response. So have this old musty one instead :
The Imperium has lots of manpower. Atoma does not. There are clearly manpower issues that are repeatedly referenced.
The kicker is that we’re not the Guard or even the PDF. The warband isnt getting personnel from the Munitorum. We’re Grendyls private army of disposable pre-servitors gathered straight from prison cells, a disturbingly almost exact analogue to Wagner.
We’re not even given priority on weapons, Quartermaster Brunt’s armory and Melk’s acquisitions are battlefield salvage, not fresh Munitorum stocks.
Dude, when you choose your backstory, it says that we can be for example:
“The promising scion of an Imperial officer slain in battle, you were raised in the Schola Progenium, where you learned to be an uncompromising soldier of the Imperium.”
or
“Like many hive juves, you were drafted at an early age to serve a menial role in the local militia.”
So you may not be officially in Guard, but you were trained. In Schola you were trained better than any Guardsman, bar Karskin, Scions, Comissars etc.
Doesn’t change the fact that we are supposed to be “suicide expendable trash” yet I am given Power Sword (even golden trimmed with inscriptions from paid skin) and Plasma Gun or holy Bolter (golden trimmed with inscriptions from paid skin) for my suicide missions.
Hell, as for being “disposable pre-servitors” I am looking quite well, dripping in gold armor and golden trimmed pants, tunic and cap (image of one of cosmetics from store):
Rejects, we are
So since I am golden trimmed reject with golden Power Sword and Plasma Gun - can I please get attractive face Fatshark? I am already doing on Auric stuff that Space Marine would be jealous of Put me in Power Armor, I will solo Deamon Princes
i would like some more options in general for both male and female, both with faces (less rough looking) and hair styles
Sure, you can have a Guard origin, but you’re no longer being supplied and maintained by the Departmento Munitorum. Your character may be familiar with and trained on all sorts of things, but they’re not all available to Grendyl’s warband.
These are all weapons that have always been available in some form to “expendable” units or basic infantry units. The 13th Penal Legion, Schaeffers Last Chancer’s, had Meltas, Long-las’s, Heavy bolters, Plasma Pistols, and Missile Launchers.
To be fair, there’s nothing that says one must die for the Emperor looking like a dreg
GW canon lore is pretty open on the outfits of penal legion troops…
So from what I can tell from this topic people want:
- More female body and facial options that make them more distinct from men, in a somewhat normal manner. (I say this, because I assume people aren’t asking to look gorgeous per se, just more feminine)
- For cosmetics to reflect the differences in the female body.
So, in terms of importance, I’m guessing that some more character options for female appearence is rated highest? And that the people in favour of these changes would likely be understanding if the changes to cosmetics were gradual, and perhaps not necessarily retroactively done? (meaning that you wouldn’t suddenly get all your cosmetics fit this new design)
One final question. Why, though? Is this really that important? What makes you think this is worth dev time?
