What silence? I’m not hearing anything.
Every day I check back for an update and every day I’m disappointed. I so badly want this game to get better because it has so much potential. Here’s to hoping something comes this week. It’d be a big mistake to not give out some sort of news this week.
The prices of cosmetics NEED to go down. I understand that they will always get whales to buy no matter the price, but holy hell 25€ for two sets of skins? Half of which have HORRIBLE clipping issues?
Good completed game, then adds MTX, whatever, sure, why not.
Uncompleted game with a lot of design trying to push MTX, that’s a bit ridiculous.
Lol I used to think like you.
Please keep this on-topic and as non-combative as possible… deviations from topics and pointlessly argumentative behavior leads to thread closures.
The next update needs to provide substantial gameplay changes and/or additions because it’s obvious by now that most of the community has reached its boiling point.
Any post about the game with obvious PR damage control bs without being backed up with a content patch is going to create a riot. I think they are simply gearing up for a big patch instead of a minor content drop and an apology which will only infuriate everyone even more.
Although, they can still drop the ball and just provide a small ‘we are on it’ update with some poor community manager trying to convince everyone that good things are coming etc. and a minor balancing patch with just enough weapon changes to keep everyone a little bit busy until they can get their crap together. Which won’t solve anything because the community is fed up with this kind of attitude already and these tricks won’t work… I sincerely hope they see that at least.
I think more than anything the community needs some respect back because right now the game is actively disrespecting our gaming time using all the usual mobile game BS (of all things…), while trying to sell cosmetics…
Treating proper gamers like they are on a phone with their VISAs, “playing” a ridiculous mobile game with its mechanics only purpose being to make you spend money and coming back because of timers all over the game, is a very huge insult in my eyes.
All what I want is… crafting. With it, I could test new weapons and take fun. Without it, this is frustration when I try to get a good weapon…
I agree a big patch would be great. However, considering what was said by CM, I do not hope for this as they just started to talk about what to fix in the game in priority.
Anyone expecting a substantial update should moderate their expectations heavily. If there was something big they would tease it at least, the fact that there is 0 practical communication means atm that just discussing it at this stage.
My biggest fear is that they are not even working on the PC version and are crunching on the console one due to some contractual Microsoft/gamepass obligation.
So do i, but i dread to think its more RNG like the perk reroll, thats random, and locks the other perk forever. This, this is just horrible. We need some control over our weapons.
Then they should work on crossplatorm play.
I have left gamepass to buy it on steam cause it was a desert on this platform.
It’ll be a desert soon on steam too at this rate.
Claiming socialism doesn’t affect the economic model is silly at best.
Best of luck indoctrinating high schoolers to your cause or whatever it is you people do nowadays.
“In order to put those comms out, those discussions need to conclude internally, which couldn’t happen until after the holidays.”
There must have been a point before Christmas when you’ve realized it’ll be impossible to reach your self-set goals for December. So why didn’t you simply apologize for it and announce most of your team is on vacation after a long crunch time? An unannounced radio silence for such a prolonged time so soon after the release of the game is terrible.
“Sure, further discussions happened internally; big ones; so comms needed to be rewritten and re-firmed up.”
I hope it’s not the “we need all hands on deck for the console port” discussion again, which you seem to have had in your previous games and were followed by an almost complete stop of development for the PC-version until the console port has been released.
Its not hard, put the sh*t in the game you said would be in from the beginning, tone down the a^sehole shop mechanics.
Let me pick mission and difficulty.
Optimise it so it doesnt take forever to load.
Shitting hell its staring them in the face whats to wait for?
I think FS considers the hub loading to be the story, and the players want the narrative!
I’m guessing they’re trying to figure out how to do none of that while at the same time making us ease up on our demands to make the game into something more than a 40k gacha.
So @Aqshy, it’s now 9 days since you posted and your post has been quoted a lot. Unfortunately all we’ve heard from Fatshark is “NOTHING”.
Even a “Hey everyone, we’re hearing you loud and clear and are actively working on things, but can’t share details right now” would be better that your current communication strategy.
Please, for the love of our Emperor: Start communicating!
starts filing the points of the pitchfork
The new CM (catfish) said she would post, maybe, something tomorrow or friday… but no promise…
I must say that I do not trust FS and just hope I am wrong…
Anyways, it doesn’t mean we will have an update…
At this rate, I wouldn’t be surprised to see the community update drop with these exact words:
“Despite all our efforts to bring you regular updates with fresh and exciting content, we haven’t been able to deliver the experience that we were hoping to, and that you all deserve, so we have made the extremely tough decision to end service for Warhammer 40k: Darktide.”
Now, if you’ve been paying attention to games industry BS you’ll see that what I’ve done is take Square Enix’ garbage statement about yet another live service game they’d cooked up being purged unceremoniously after just over a year of existence.
If you hadn’t been paying attention, I’ve just explained it, so there ya go.
Anyhoo. The longer there’s no “We’re not ready to say anything concrete; but we’re working on it, scant on details but we’re keeping communication open” messages, then I’ll assume what they’re writing up is that they’re just dropping the game after having done as little as possible to keep it afloat.
