I don’t have proof as I don’t record peoples conversations from Discord, but the devs and CM’s have been fairly upfront whenever I have asked them about the company or progress on the games. On the discord and even reddit they are pretty candid about issues within Fatshark that just don’t get talked about here. I don’t think I mentioned anything that has not been posted here or on the Reddit already.
“as in a Dev would most likely not say it”
When you accuse other people of making stuff up, try not make things up yourself within the same breath. This company is especially bad when it comes to devs and cm’s saying things without thinking.
Playtesters 100%. It’s known that they have a bunch of “very engaged players” who they show all the new stuff and let them decide on balance stuff. If you remember the vet talent tree reworks that came time and time again thats mostly those players doing.
I know it sounds embittered when I say this but it’s reality: it’s mostly asslickers. You don’t get in there unless you suck up to people on the official discord. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been closed beta testing and providing active helpful feedback and bug reports during those tests, it’s about how well you suck up.
Remember when they came up with Weaves for VT2? That was that “private core discord” who mostly came up with that, people like j_sat who they even flew out to their studios.
Except I’m not trying to claim things, when Catfish said that DT had the biggest team out of the 3 I have screenshots, when I say that at some point additional archetypes were mentioned I have sources, when i say that they’ve worked on a specific weapon, I have the datamined bits, either on hand or I endeavour to link it back after the case.
Considering Darktide is very, very obviously not GaaS or live service in the slightest, it would be surprising if the majority of devs hadn’t moved on to a new product.
If they had any decency they’d still leave a ‘reasonable’ amount of devs on Darktide to do updates, new maps, solo mode, bugfixing, crafting and all the other million things that are still unfinished. Probably they have just left it with a tiny team, though. With FS having a production pipeline that takes 3 times longer than it should, having a small team on top of that of course makes things take even longer.
I’ll be honest while I don’t really chase after penances and okry’s challenge, I know quite a few from my group that does (some to much tbh). But them reworking that system, the item one, and hopefully the Bot one would be something that i’d really want, and doesn’t really need the animators (weapons and/or enemy), map maker/artist and other such workers
lol j_sat. i remember that guy when i was helping with the azgaraz betatesting, he’d drop into whatever run you were trying to test things on because he could and use hacks to jack up the data because you couldn’t stop him. i hope he’s addicted to gatchas right now.
Damn, i guess it is good that some of my friends were still on the fence about maybe picking up Darktide. I should tell them not to bother anymore, really, don’t want them wasting money.
I remember the general sentiment being the same back when VT1 was dropped and VT2 was made.
The same thing also whenever people are informed “now is the period of half a year of no updates while the console port is being made”. For some reason that’s always met with “no hard proof so it’s not whats happening, plus fatshark denied doing that” right up until the moment the xbox port comes out
Nobody is denying it, heck I posted the link to them looking for people for an unnamed project before, but it’s different from them abandoning Darktide
It’s not unusual for Fatshark or any other companies to work on multiple projects at the same time and have people join and leave. However, I find it interesting that a senior game designer leaves without securing a new job. Unless he had some personal problems to attend that never shows the past employer in good light.
