Fatshark should be on red alert

I’ve already posted these images in a private discussion.

These numbers are from Fatshark throughout the Covid years (company statistics are public documents).

The reason I chose those years is that we have to wait until 2025-2026 to view the most recent stats, but based on the available data, Fatshark performed well as a company, despite the situation of the economy at the time.

I know we have our grievances, most of them is shared among the community, with Fatshark, their games and how they manage their property and community, but I’m not on “team-wants-Fatshark-to-fail”.

The good portions of Darktide are top-tier, but they need to stop playing catch-up and bring the game to a stage where they can offer new ways of playing/expanding the game rather than mending broken systems.

Anyways here’s the stats:

It’s not as bad as darktide’s
Essentially it’s the same model as the first space marine game

Cosmetic dlc
So there’s no in game shop you just buy the cosmetics you like with actual money (imagine that huh)
Hell it’s better than space marine 1 as the content updates are free

But inb4 space marine 2 has better customisation than darktide (not a higher bar to beat tbh)

They also seem to have 6 classes with unique skill trees and weapon customization right out of the gate as well. It’s funny how hard FS dropped the ball. If they had used the 2 years to deliver on all those broken/empty promises it might have become huge, instead of slowly fading away into obscurity with 4k players.

Nah, Fatshark is fine. They’ll survive and they’ll do this all over again with their next IP, whether they abandon Darktide and go straight into Darktide 2, or move onto another 'Tide because they’ve poisoned the 40k well.

It’s the staff that should probably be concerned more than anything. Putting Darktide on their resume is going to be a red flag for other Game Production companies, unless they’re looking to add to their Art and Audio teams.

I know if it were me, I’d be emphasising the work I did on Vermintide II and “other projects”.
