@FatsharkStrawHat I’ll just add my voice to this and say that the FOMO approach to the premium store does no one any favours. It’s a bad attempt at profiting off of a primal human instinct that I feel pretty strongly is overstated in its efficacy in general. Just get rid of it and give us a comprehensive list of available options so people can directly get what they want without the feeling that they’re being treated as a fool whose psychology is free to be manipulated by rapacious corporate fartsniffers. It’s offensive more than it is effective and it just needs to go in a bin somewhere far away from our innocent little eyes.
Whilst we’re at it, the prices have been inflated to an asinine degree. I forget the exact number but I believe the early sets on rotation were 900-1000 aquilas for a whole outfit + weapon skin and now you get a single weapon skin for the same, maybe even more.
Like others have pointed out, FS plays it a little loose with community goodwill. They’re slow to build it up by doing things people rightfully want them to do and they’re quick to throw it away with stupid stuff like this. Tell whatever corporate drone whose idea this is that this is hurting far more than it is helping. I’ll even write them a strongly worded letter and deliver it by hand if you think that helps.

Early sets were 2400 for: helmet, torso, legs, 2 weapon skins, and a charm
There was also a one-off rotation where they sold a torso+pants combo for 800 iirc.
Now it’s 2400 for just those first 3, the weapon skins are split up and sold for 400-900, ditto the charm, and a better helmet is sold for 1400. Basically a 200-300% price increase for the same amount of stuff.
Don’t forget the sets that only cost 800 for all weapon skins, albeit just simple camouflage.

How many live service games permanently keep everything in their store up forever? One? Now, how many don’t? I’m all for adding up to like five pages worth of stuff, but I don’t want to see them constantly adding a new page each week. Two years from now we’ll have like a hundred pages of crap to go through. Four years, 150.
Other people doing stupid things is never an argument to also do stupid things unless you are content to be a complete sheep that can not independently do the right thing for its own sake.
At most, there’d be another page every two weeks, but bear in mind every rotation of the shop is not full of new stuff, there’s a lot of reruns. Designing a 2D UI interface for browsing through any amount of cosmetics is not some herculean task. They’re more than capable of doing it.
The cosmetic side of darktide is terrible.
Aquila and cosmetics price are horrendous,the free cosmetics are barebone(still only 2 recolors buyable in it too).No aquila obtainable by playing plus they never did the twitch drop the spoke of.
At this point, they are confidently boots in the mud with this system sadly.

It’ll take them removing the funny money layer to even get me to start considering putting any money in, so I don’t see that happening ever. Doubly so when they butchered the standard Munitorium sanctioned psyker longcoat.
Darktide is a rare game I enjoy enough and like the devs enough where, like helldivers, I’d like to spend more money on em, but they dont give me the option.
The currency thing is obnoxious too; either give me the option to earn said in-game currency in game, like in helldivers, or just show me the price in real money. Obfuscating costs is totally scummy and not what I would expect from fatshark, considering my experiences with vermintide 1&2
Yes its the last vestige of the sh*t predatory launch systems, you need to kill it. Ill buy skins at reasonable prices if a full non FOMO shop was implemented with all skins available at all times. I know many of my friends who play feel the same way.
Sorry citizen, no new cosmetics today. We didn’t need your money to support our business anyway.

Back to the monetization though, Fatshark. I don’t get you. Your monetization approach doesn’t work. It’s not MMO. You need to cash when you generate some sort of hype or interest. Itemization update was the biggest positive change to this game since it launch and I agree with many sacrastic articles or YT videos saying that Darktide finally came out of Early Access. It feels that way. Not only that, but we can certainly call this update a positive response to community wishes, so there is also a lot of good will from players.
So we have good will, hype and novelity.
A perfect moment to ripe the fruits. But your monetization director is just dumb.
I will give you some examples: I have Discord channel with friends I play co-op games with. In last couple of days we were laughting about the fact that we want to give you money, but you just don’t want more money from us. We are happy with update so our wallets became a little… less protected. We want to buy stuff. But we can’t.
For example I myself would like to buy: Combat-Predicant Enoral bundle, Devoted Caslane bundle, Sister-in-Wrath Elyna Priss bundle, Cyclopean Pain Hood, Catechizer’s Sanctum Hood. (yes, I main Zealot, how did you know?). I wouldn’t also mind buying: Eluvia Sartok bundle, Operative Cimmerius bundle or Officer Breen Millendon bundle for Veteran. Woldn’t also mind XXXL Chem-Safe Rebreather, Tog the Tankcrusher bundle or Private Zork for Ogryn.
Now, you can calculate yourself how much money that is. However, becasue your FOMO is idiotic - before even 1/3rd of these items will rotate and appear in store (if even that), my hype from update and having fun from game will diminish, I will burn out a lot and I won’t be as willing to spend money thinking “well, I am not playing that much anymore… is it smart for me to spend money now?”.
I mean, come on Fatshark. You don’t even capitalize on your own mega-update… Give us normal catalogue. No, we won’t get confused with too many tabs… Whoever told you that on executives meeting is idiot.

Today I was playing my Ogryn and saw that other Ogryn had a cosmetic for his Bully Club (my fav weapon on Ogryn):
Since I hate scrappy look of default clubs, I was like “wow, this is sleek!”. Well, I went into your premium store in hope that maybe on one of Ogryn tabs this club skin is there?
Of course not! Another example where I see something I would like to purchase, but thanks to your FOMO I can’t. Before this skin will get back to store, I will probably lose interest in buying it anyway. Who told you FOMO is great idea? It might work in MMOs where you have tens of thousands players on average everyday logging in with huge content, but here in co-op game with barely 5-7k players? Come on, gate keeping players from giving you money is probably most stupid monetization idea ever.
Can I please get Catalogue so I can buy something I am currently interested in before I am not interested anymore? You want some $$ or not?
