Fatshark is cooking up - New Special Condition

Mod author here. The condition itself existed in DT long ago, even before SoloPlay mod release. It causes insta crash so it was removed from SoloPlay. I reviewed/restored this condition in recent update and thought it’s playable now

A real shame. The weave tracks were one of the coolest parts of them. Some were real good, but all fit their Wind’s tone pretty well.

Unfortunately, I don’t think 40K has any equivalent to the 8 Winds of magic. There’s the different schools of psychic disciplines but that system was from the FFG books so they probably retconned it out of existence.

But I get it, some sort of theme to change the feel of the maps would have been nice, especially with the unique modifiers and music that came with the Weaves. So far Havoc is just, well, more Nurgle stuff.

Psyker powers have been spilt into schools since at least 8th edition of tabletop, if not earlier. Made it slightly less random to get the specific power(s) you wanted at the cost of having no chance at getting other powers (back when what powers you got had to be rolled per psyker for each game).

I said I’ll take all 3.

Ah I see, thanks for the info. So we might be getting our hopes up then! Damn. It looks pretty cool.

AI’s an abomination and it shouldn’t be advanced any further, Omnissiah be praised.

Fair enough then but it’d still be a stretch to make them the equivalent of the Winds. The in-setting explanation for those were that the U5 were entering the other-dimensional Realms of each wind (which I’m not even sure is actually a WHFB thing and might just be from AoS) to do . . . well, I’m still not really sure, but whatever needed doing, I guess.

The only real equivalent we have is just the straight-up warp and our penal troopers aren’t gonna be pulling a Kaldor Draigo any time soon. Also, to have a psychic phenomenon affecting the entire hive city at once or even just an area the size of our maps would be an indication of some real nasty stuff going down. I suppose it could be explained by rituals or whatnot but still that’d be pretty dire times.

If that’s the case, this could well be a map consumed by a Pyromantic aura. That’d be straight-forward and could just use the Bright Weave effect of Aqshy as inspiration. Some of the others might be a bit strange to make work, like Divination, but I’m sure some effect could be thought up.

Another possibility is that this might be the WIP of the Chaos Waste mode, as disappointing as it would be if they just re-used old maps and didn’t base it in the 2nd hive city, the Ash Wastes, Nox Alpha, the deep place beneath the hive or any of the other possibilities they have teased. The flames would be suitable-ish for a Khorne-cursed map modifier.

do you have any idea how disappointed we were at august 29th 1997 actually watching the clock ticking and nothing happened?

Not as disappointing as the Y2K countdown. I got really drunk in preparation for the world imploding.

Just got more drunk from the disappointment
