Fatshark is cooking up - New Special Condition



looks like Fatshark is working to a new special condition, hopefully something it can be put in auric board, even though probably it may be havoc only for the upcoming conditions they mentioned before… but at least something that is different visually. Havoc needed something unique in term of lighting and vibes.

for now this condition seems to be affecting only 3 maps, specifically torrent maps.
looks cool and i didn’t test fully but supposedly flamer specials spawn should be increased which could be funny.

edit: this comes from “solo play” mod, under special condition called “ember”
only torrent maps work with this special condition (excluding orthus offensive)
after some runs, it appears that the flamers’ attacks leave their flames in the ground more longer and apparently more wider.

Well I would say introduce first it in Havoc.

Then start trickling it in Heresy and Damnation.

Same for Moebian 21st, and Gift of the Grandfather

Hope havoc gets a rework to a few things

as special event? if anything i’d like moebians and mutated horrors and terror in the dark back in auric board permanently

No basically have those become the same case as Hunting Ground and Power Supply Interruption, where for a couple of hours every mission (or half) have those modifier

i hope it could be a special condition in auric right away, and i feel like it may, since there is also tox gas modifier that changes the map visually a bit. so probably once they release to havoc, it will be also playable in auric hopefully, looks cool visually

I would see the Havoc step as the ‘balancing’ part, like testers play on it, to see if it bugs out and such.

Then it’s introduced in Havoc, if it’s really well received then it’s introduced to Heresy/Damnation

the fact it is so cool looking visually this one though, it makes me think may be havoc temporarily first too
also flames don’t seem to hurt the player but they emit sfx sound when you walk near to them, which is nice, the only change it seems flamer spawn increased, which could be similar to the sniper one in ventilation purge, or those condition with the mutants spam

Mainly quickplay and free tier selection based on max level unlocked as well as a reroll feature for modifiers

Using havoc to test anything for the rest of the game would be an incredibly idiotic design decision considering how poorly balanced havoc is and how it leans even harder into the most silly strong things. It would also be silly to use their supposed end game/‘hardcore’ (lol) mode to test things in the first place.

AKA it’s probably what Fatshark will do because they need to pick the most foolish way of doing things almost every time before the players go “Wow, this sucks” so they back pedal after a year.

i dont play dt with music anymore but wish havoc had a custom soundtrack
and yes quickplay would be cool, party finder it is just some sort of forced/janky quickplay, that they should have put a normal quickplay from the very begin. (also because eventually there will be less players interested in havoc and will become a game mode where you play just with friends only [it kinda already is])

also i’m at h40 now but the delayed progress at day one also was bad, cause had to wait friend hosting the next ones and wasnt always online

Testing in Havoc conditions? that’s a joke.
This game mode is so restrictive…
