Fatshark, buffs before nerfs (Vet Edition)

Nah, it’s not (that) bad.

Agile engagement nets you a lot of breakpoints and it’s really good with revolver/plasma for taking out specials for more than 1 shot, and since it boost for more than one shot it isn’t that redundant with WS.

Always Prepared allows you to basically never reload/only reload in transition areas with plasma so it’s a good combo.

Only thing I don’t like is not picking reduced stam regen delay, and the demolition team being absolutely not needed if you already have stockpile on smoke nades. On your toes is also one of those talents I don’t really get. Dropping those 2 would allow picking both delay reduction to get down to 0.5 delay which is huge.

This build is bad. And I saw a plasma in this build, even if this build works, it’s all because of the unbelievable power of plasma.

a vet who doesnt horde clear is dead weight. No one needs people standing in the back doing pew pew… I can do that while in horde and clear it and kill anything of importance.

TBH I’d buy this argument…if not for Loner and Shroudfield being a thing now. Threat reduction is clearly fine for FS.

Pre-Patch-13 Vet’s problem wasn’t that he was good at shooting, it was that he was the best at everything while also annihilating everything with ease.

Breakpoints don’t matter as much in the field, because:

  1. Ideally, you’re not attacking priority targets such as Crushers by yourself.
  2. Breakpoints often require setup you don’t always have. You can’t ALWAYS get the full 10 stack of Surgical in the heat of the battle.
  3. Most specials’ (aside from flamers) and shooters breakpoints don’t matter, because they die in one headshot with most competently built 360+ base weapons.
  4. As I’ve said, this melee weapon doesn’t synergize at all with Agile Engagement, because you need a QUICK weapon like a combat axe or a knife to consistently get this buff. Even the +1 bleed stack talent node makes more sense, because it gives more hordeclear to the weapon that lacks it. This weapon is designed by the devs to oneshot Crushers with a fully charged special heavy attack with the right blessings and deal massive bleed damage to monstrosities. It’s best used with fast firing, fast pull up guns.

First of all, they are not slow weapons, have you tried to use them? The plasma switching speed is very fast, and the Chainsaw Axe can deal with a large number of targets with a quick light attack, and deal with special targets with a heavy attack or a special attack. They work very well.

Then, the Smoke Grenade is used to adapt to the melee talent, creating an environment where enemies must approach or temporarily unable to shoot you. Their purpose is not to kill, but to hinder.

Thirdly, I don’t always use heavy attacks, for reasons I’ve already mentioned, and the increased damage threshold when switching to ranged weapons is just enough to take out almost all ranged elites and special enemies in one hit.

Fourth, please express your opinion after using it, I don’t think you have really escaped the temptation of the Power Sword to use other weapons in actual combat. Please actually use it.

Fifth, health is important in the current environment, many special enemies can directly cut your health, relying solely on toughness can perform well when there is no crisis, and then make you die instantly in a crisis.

Sixth, the cornerstone talent on the right side provides a steady means of toughness recovery and attack enhancement, especially with ranged weapons, which are very prone to critical hits for the first attack. Autoreloading is only a small buff, and I mostly rely on melee combat to deal with the vast majority of enemies. The plasma itself’s huge magazine ensures that you don’t need to reload as often.

Finally, the main purpose of the last talent is to provide an emergency toughness regeneration when the ability is on cooldown, you don’t always have a cooldown to activate your ability, but this talent can work after any kill.

And in combat, due to the constant switching of weapons, such as killing a few enemies surrounding you with melee, then instantly killing an elite or special enemy with a ranged weapon to remove the threat, and then returning to melee, it guarantees a constant recovery of toughness.

Also, plasma is not necessary, any other weapon that has a short switching time to accurately handle the elite will work, such as the revolver.

Again, this build is a melee build, not a ranged build.

This build has been working well, if you’re willing to give it a try, you’ll find that melee veterans are perfectly doable.

Also, I’m going to explain separately that always prepared talent, it’s loaded according to the percentage you’ve already used, for those weapons with small magazines, it can only be loaded with a few rounds, but for weapons with huge magazines, such as plasma, the closer your magazine is to empty, the more you can load.

It’s never meant to fill your magazine all at once, but to ensure that you can always make a few attacks when you take out your gun in this constant weapon switching combat style.

And a complete reload only needs to happen after the end of the battle, where you will never be short of ammo in your magazine. This ensures that you can have the ability to fight back immediately when you encounter dangerous special enemies, without having to find time to reload your weapon.
