Fatel error

Issue Type (Required):

Crash - During Play

Issue Description (Required):

This problem occurred after purchasing and installing the latest DLC and only appears during a mission. I have played this game for 880 hours and this is definitely a new problem. The error code is as follows:

GUID: 6ec0ea1f-f04c-4ad6-b36a-697a2ea1915d
Log File:
Info Type:

[Engine Error]: Failed to decompress: ../bundle\data/2e/2ecedfbdb7048cfd.stream from package b7c6b15c.

Make sure that your game files are not corrupt by in steam. Contact support if this still occur after verifying the game files.

If you tried this already the issue could be due to HW issues that we have seen on Intel Raptor Lake CPUs (13th and 14th generations of Intel CPUs). see https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/articles/360021425793--PC-How-to-Resolve-Data-Corruption-Errors

The files that fail to unzip are completely random, and the solution in the link does not work. I have reinstalled and verified the integrity of the game over 10 times, my CPU is not the problematic model mentioned in the error message (i5-13600KF), and I have tried putting the game on three SSDs that I own and each one works fine.

Sorry to hear this @Lilysilk

It appears there’s an issue with a missing/corrupted bundle file in your installation. I recommend performing a clean reinstallation of Darktide which involves deleting your AppData (please note any custom settings e.g. keybinds, graphics etc. will be reset):
https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/articles/360034118394--PC-How-to-Perform-a-Clean-Re-Installation-of-Vermintide-2-or-Darktide

Please let me know how this goes!

hello @Fatsharklev
I did the following:

  1. Refer to other replies to similar questions, delete the entire fatshark folder in appdata, and perform a clean reinstall
  2. Refer to the link https://support.fatshark.se/hc/en-us/articles/360021425793--PC-How-to-Resolve-Data-Corruption-Errors to check each item
  3. Verify the integrity of the file from steam again
  4. Use the test version experimental
  5. Modify the content in launcher_overrides = { in user_settings.config

All I did did not solve the problem. The crash still occurred 100% of the time 3-10 minutes after entering the mission, and was not affected when not entering the mission (including in the psychic room)

Hm okay, thanks for the update and for clarifying what steps you’ve already tried.

As your CPU is still a 13th Gen, if you haven’t already done so, a BIOS update may help with stability - though this is a shot in the dark.

Also, do you have any alternative drives you can try installing to?

For stability reasons, my graphics card driver is still the version released in December 2024, and my graphics card is 4070ti instead of 50xx. My bios version was released in February this year and is already the latest version, but i5-13600KF does not seem to be on the list of unstable CPUs you listed.@FatsharkLev

You mean the hard drive? I have three SSD and have tried installing them all, but it doesn’t solve the problem.@FatsharkLev

This is unacceptable, I just bought the deluxe edition DLC and now I can’t play the entire game.

I see, thanks for the added info! 've raised this with our engine developers and have asked if they can do some further digging. This may not get looked at immediately, but I’ll be back in touch as soon as I’ve heard from them.

If you’d like to refund the Arbites DLC then I can also assist with this.

Thank you for your patience.

@Lilysilk, our backend developers were unable to find anything specific in the logs due to them being truncated with missing data.

That said, they recommended that you try deleting the specific bundle file 2ecedfbdb7048cfd.stream in \Steam\steamapps\common\Warhammer 40,000 DARKTIDE\bundle

Then, to try verifying integrity of game files to trigger a new download of the specific corrupted bundle file. Unfortunately, as the file is locally corrupted there isn’t anything we can do our side.

Thank you for your patience, the problem has been solved. My CPU failed, causing the CPU memory to be unstable. After the repair, the game no longer reports errors.

Thanks for the update! Sorry to hear that your CPU failed. I’m glad to hear that you were able to identify and resolve the issue though! Happy heretic purging!
