worrying only about investors and shareholders can only go so far. The game company titans will fall.
[/quote] this. I honestly believe that if bethesda were left to their own devices they would produce amazing stuff.
Honestly, compared to these other games, it kind of is. Because at least the red weapons are utterly and completly pathetic in this game. There’s nothing special about them. They look like trash, and all they do is save you time re-rolling properties, most of which you will never see the effect of. They are not interesting, cool or transformative - they’re time savers and ego sticks for high end players. It’d be a real problem if they were actually cool, but they really really aren’t.
So hey at least shatfark didn’t bury good ideas under the grind. The grind just stands between you and disappointment at how lame the end-game item design really is! Now look at these AAA games and see actual content buried under the grind, content that is transformative and is worth getting for reasons other than ‘ooo my weapon glows c0000l’.
i played fallout76 to bits despite it’s bugs, i loved my playthrough.
however… things are getting from bad to worse. the patch they put out didn’t fix things, it broke more stuff, duping bugs are running rampant, i am really not sure what they are doing but they can’t seem to fix any major bugs or deal with any problem well. in this state i wouldn’t recommend it. however if you loved fo4, you’ll like the game.
If any of ya’ll are signed up with Bethesda you might want to reset your passwords. Also check with your banks to possibly issue new cards- they’ve experienced a leak including POS data.
12 days later, I can say that I don’t have a clue about what the fallout 76 project was meant to be.
I played a little bit, not yet dead, thanking V2 training, camped a couple of villages, got tons of materials, built a decent house, few weapons, got shoot by a player, saw a huge flying demon, kept myself hydrated, saw a nuke explode, followed a little bit of the story, but then quit for the farming.
But I already feel like enough. If I have time in my hands, I run V2. Few disappointing things, everyone has own view about how, what and why but still enjoying it.
Guess I’ll have to wait for Cyberpunk for a decent story driven game.
