Fairly new player to Darktide, need advice on ogryn

In vermin tide you could kinda shunt enemies to interrupt them. Specials intertitular. Am I missing the window to do so. Feels like I can only shunt the cannon fodder. Then am I using the taunt right. Seems like it won’t work on specials. Taunted the guy who charges, and the effect was there where he took increased damage, but he flat out ignored me.

There’re monstrosities which are like those in VT2. They’re generally just damage sponges. If it was a huge plague Ogryn then they’re meant for a team take down (block/dodge while your mates do them).

If it was a crusher (plated armour) or a shielded opponent, then it’s more about weapon choice. You can get a stun baton, or you can get a shotgun that staggers them. Or you can heavy hit / special punch them. And lastly your special charge can stagger them too.

But I’m going to guess this was a mutant. Grunts a lot, then charges? Slightly smaller than your Ogryn? You can’t really stagger them. Just dodge as they get close and shoot them.

About Mutants: As Ogryn or any other class: When you feel like you’ve done your utmost to have your greatest stagger hit ready and you’re sure there’s no way that sucker can do a 120 degree turn in 1m radius to grab you behind your cover you’re still going to fail some of the time. These things, they’re mutants you know. They can do Stuff. Like they have these calluses in their feet that allows them to grip ANY surface and change their whole body trajectory from 40km/h to another direction in a split second. Also there’s warp you know, who knows, it might be they’re warping and stuff.

Seriously. Shoot them from afar. Sometimes a revved chainweapon also graps them nicely.

Need to know there’s no host privilege so if you’re high latency you’re going to lose against the dog every time.

Muties can’t be interrupted with a shove. Taunt shout seems to interrupt them and charging into them does as well, but your best option is to hit it with a rock or a box
