Failshark failing again

You managed to swindle money out of some people during the 30% off sale. Congratulations.

Take a look at your forums, steam, reddit. These new users are starting to complain about all the things we have been complaining about. They are starting to see who you are as a company and they don’t like it.

You will quickly lose a massive portion of these new players if you don’t get off your ass and actually do something.

I bet you won’t. I bet you let this new group of folks become annoyed and leave your game just like the other 90,000 people did.

Todd Howard made it 7 times in row. Deal with it.

As far as I am concerned Todd Howard made it 7 times with shitty launch, unstable piece of sh*t game, that was not optimized or tested properly.

However, I have not heard a single complaint about systems designed by him or his team to be not engaging or be FOMO or gacha.
You can make fun of their certain system decisions, possible exploits and/or etc, but none of the systems are total and utter garbage like tide RNG crafting system or RNG mission system is.

The reality is they still made their money.

If their revenue decreases they’ll just lower their overheads like staff, smaller office, reduce servers etc in order to maintain gross profit to balance it out as much as possible towards…

People who have stake in their business will just see short term, squeeze the sponge. The average worker pays the penalty in quickly looking for next place in order to maintain financial stability.

Least amount of effort and maximum return. Companies spend 3 years making a 50 dollar game, or spend few days making a skin and sell for 10.

Rather than reach for best reputation and be absolutely swimming in revenue over just …one game. i.e. Witcher 3. No online, no coop, no gameplay loop, no in game store. Steady revenue based on one off product sales instead of trying to maintain a revenue stream with in game store.

Effort vs return…how to know if more effort = more return, you need calculated risk assessment vs potential reward. I know it’s tough task, throw enough money at someone with targets, they’ll do it as a job.

There is a curve that only the best dare to cross for longevity, or just settle for short term gain and reputation will carry onto next game. It’s lucky people on the surface only see the company name, shame we have no visibility on individuals who are decision makers.

^ This.

The part that makes it painfully stupid is that what we have is an industry full of ravenous fans who can’t wait to throw money at their next addiction and rather than just make a good game and scoop up that money, they worry more about fooling the people into buying $28 skins and Battle Passes.

Like we WANT to give you money, stop trying to cheat us out of it, you dont have to, just finish your damn game lol

its cheaper to fool us than make good game. unless there will be regulator who can put fines, they will continue to lower the bar and increase the price.

company owning warhammer IP could sue them for miss representation of their IP, so they cannot go full Mr. Bean

Very astute and precise. As someone who had a corporate career in a major software company and now operates a personal business, I cannot but agree with everything you just wrote.

Unfortunately it is a classic example of a business with intention to grow to gain higher valuation to be sold.

You ARE the product, you are the very thing sitting on the shelf that gives valuation for the dev studio to put into a shopping basket and sold off to another company based upon how much they can generate from you further thereafter.

I get it, it’s business and I’m all for capitalism. But integrity is not thinking how can we do the least and get much as possible now at the cost of later human factor.

Human factor. Impact to end customer, impact to workers, their reputation, happiness. Making money in honest way.

There is song by Tupac – Changes. To quote “I made a G today, but you made it in a sleazy way”

You’re wrong on that front. Look up Fatshark’s history. They used to be a contractor and they made this company it’s own thing after their first few successes. They’ve been around since 2004 or so. They’re not a sell-off scheme.

It didn’t start that way. But then it become their intention later. When majority shares are handed to tencent, it becomes major decision maker.

I never said it was intention from the start of 2004. It just became that way later.

not even that, if they made this game with a view to getting it on one of the many game pass services, then why would they care about consumers at all?

honestly it feels like that’s the new paradigm; release in Early Access on PC with a whole lot of promises, then leave it to languish while you build for console on the Early Access cash, then dump it on a game pass for the console scrubs who never last more then 8 months anyway

This is thing I see sometimes on Playstation as I had a PS5 as well. People would buy a game then couple of months later it appears on the PS Plus subscription as inclusive game. The thing is what would be acceptable X number of months from initial release to the day it becomes inclusive to games subscription for a person to feel it was acceptable loss of buying the game upfront because they got to play early. It’s a tough one to decide.

Game pass definitely a good thing to let people trial nice games like Warhammer 3 as opposed to Steam’s restrictive 2hrs refund window. Sometimes need more than 2hrs as you’re tweaking performance settings in game, in game tutorial, key bind setup then you’re left with an hr.

Definitely better than Playstations subscription. You have to pay to have save game files to cloud, Xbox free account you don’t. PS5 won’t let you save locally onto USB drive either. If you stop their subscription, it deletes save game files.

What I like to do with Game Pass is temporarily sign up. Cram in single player games I like, stop for few months, restart subscription to cram any new games. Repeat, so it isn’t continuous spend.
