Extremely Inconsistent and bad performance on top tier hardware

System specs:
GPU: MSI RTX 3090
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5950x
RAM: 64 Gb DDR-4 3200 Mhz
SSD: 2 TB with 1 Gb D-RAM

I am having very undesirable performance for this game. i like the game play and all but my fps fluctuates so much that it makes it difficult to play. i use medium settings, ray tracing off, DLSS set to balanced and my resolution is 2k.

During gamplay i encounter fps fluctuations on these settings between the ranges of 45-145. it is very annoying to play the game with these fluctuations and for the hardware i have it is completely unacceptable to be running this bad even on MEDIUM settings.

In addition to medium settings, changing any of the settings results in no significant performance benefits or detriments (other than enabling and disabling raytracing) No matter what graphic settings i use it always is the same inconsistent fluctuating frame rates.

I am trying to find a fix but most games that i have issues like this in all have one thing in common: Easy Anti Cheat. im just getting very tired of paying for top tier hardware and still not being able to have stable gaming experience on new games. hopefully this issue is addressed and not ignored like it always is.

Don’t hope.

As far as I understand they implemented eac in vermintide 2 because of the mods.
So, they can control which one will be allowed.

Now we don’t have mods anymore.
But we still got eac.

I guess because fatshark is partly owned by tencent.
Wikipedia says “majority control” even.
Maybe eac is running a cryptominer or something in the background.
I wouldn’t be surprised.

I bet the lizard people are funding this.

Well, how useful is anti cheat for a coop game?
Now that there isn’t even user generated content anymore that you want to get control over.
Actual gameplay-changing mods are not possible anymore because the server handles everything of interest.
Maybe you could duplicate pickups or something.

I tested Elden Ring without eac running and it went up like 20 to 30 FPS.
Now Elden Ring at least has PVP and stuff.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it destroys the performance here as well.

We don’t know what eac is actually doing, if we did it would be pointless.
But the performance goes somewhere.

Same issue here… hight end stuff and still seeing my fps drop to 60 up to 110 and so on and so on…

trolls honestly

if you remove EAC from elden ring, you can increase the FPS cap to 165, you can add superresoluton programs (basically discount DLSS) and just mod the game graphically and performance wise to make it better. its just unfortunate that people such as those who comment on this post will always say stuff along the sides of “skill issue” when it is a genuine issue that just gets ignored. Oh well, cant do much just got to hope for the better

It’s a good point that I haven’t seen explained by the developers besides them casually dismissing it when confronted about Easy Anti Cheat. It’s very well documented that EAC causes performance related issues. For example, see the infamous Elden Ring scenario. Modifying the .exe file of Elden Ring to execute the game without Easy Anti Cheat will substantially boost performance. Besides, what I don’t understand, why have an additional layer of security - which will affect performance - when people already have to authenticate to a central server to gain access. Remember, we’re using dedicated servers now instead of the peer to peer system of Vermintide. Meaning with how authentication works with client to server; you’re either provided or denied service based on the credentials your game sends to that server.
