Expeditions, It's certainly a game mode

My initial thoughts on expeditions having played a handful, both complete maps and crashes meaning a complete waste of time, I have to say that I am thoroughly whelmed with them.

I’ll play it some more to give it the benefit of the doubt but I can’t see it suddenly becoming engaging enough to want to play. Genuinely disappointing that this is what Tubby Tuna chooses to spend their resources on rather than giving players stuff they actually want and desire.

We could of had more actual maps ( not operations), enemies, factions, actual chaos wastes or long overdue changes and bug fixes but no. Instead it’s another half baked game mode that players will abandon in a week or so.

Allegedly (I was not here for this) actual Chaos Wastes was made by a third party contractor that was actually, y’know, competent. If true, the stumbling, half-baked nonsense we get here is the ‘Fatshark brand’ Chaos Wastes. (I’m including Havoc, Mortis Trials, and Expeditions in this assessment since they’re all pieces of the OG’s approach).

I heard it was the maps that were handled out of studio for ratland wastes. Either way get someone making maps and not more of whatever this is. Also weapons you don’t have to pay for.

Bummer. But you know what would keep the game busy and crowded? That’s right, nerfs!

I am not sure if I want to drag myself into grinding enough remnants to unlock the other areas. It feels like once you extract the first time you’ve experienced enough of the mode to understand that’s what it’s going to be for all the other areas as well

yeah, looking at the current end mission modifier offerings, I see nothing worth grinding towards.
They put dogs as a modifier in the “grand opening” of their new mode. How incompetent can the leadership be?

Just saw one of the new map areas not part of the preview and I have to say the maps are really impressive looking and have good variation. I think they did cook there.

Yeah. If only they would have just added three maps in this new biome.

I dunno why torture youself further but Im out, like 6h, and Im done with no ammo and constant spawn of reapers and gunners. Thats not fun, not difficult just annoying. Also too much of annoying objectives which just ruins the flow of the game, nearly every poi has auspex brainrot “make the same shyte for 3 times” which I hate even in regular game and thats for 10+times in one expedition

Maybe some bugged out on my side but I dont have any conversations between characters like I have in auric so its just brainless grind for the sake of the grind for mid sets (where you dont even have it for new classes). And this is one of the two free updates in that year I guess because we are on rotation new class every half of the year.

It’s a mess. Even in Auric, nobody knows what they’re doing, we’re all headless chickens running around. Most people have zero idea what they’re supposed to do. Our Ogryn kills everyone else by heading to the inter-map gate early with a power cell in his arms. Tech scraps are hard to see, unlike the chests and boxes littering the regular maps.

It just makes me appreciate regular maps more. God I wish we’d just gotten Chaos Wastes 2.0.

It’s not really Chaos Wastes, new maps are appreciated I suppose, and might give them some idea whatever they can deliver a proper “roguelite” game mode in the future. It’s certainly far from DRG “random” map generation, but then I’m sure they face limitations DRG devs did not, because that game was designed with map generation in mind.

Two runs of Expedition was enough for me to know I’ll probably just play the normal missions instead.
It’s just Mortis Trials all over again.
