Everything wrong with this game in one picture

I have seen worse fails, this is still…salvagable, at least to some degree. Maniac stays, Flak or Carapace comes in. You have to choose if you prefer to live with Shred or Precog. Slaughter comes in? Unless you have something else in mind, in which case, Fatshark says no.

Hi,

Either I mistyped my message or you misinterpreted what I meant, because I was addressing @Vertraxxx, who thinks that having good rolled weapons difficult to get is a good thing.

He argues that if we could get the combinations we want on our weapons without grind or luck, we would quickly become bored with the game because there would be “nothing left for us to progress”.

That’s what I was referring to, and I used a metaphor to illustrate how microtransactions, season passes, and FOMO didn’t exist when I was a kid.

I played Quake, Unreal Tournament (the first one), and CS 1.6 for fun, not to grind out some kind of progression system.

We’re on the same page and saying the same thing @Aetrion.

I’ve played Darktide for 1500 hours so far.

Trust me, you don’t have to convince me that the crafting system is bad; I’ve spent a lot of time with it.

Feel the same way, every single time the metal maniac ruins a quality item. With 0 chance to build it how you/I/we want.

A total motivation killer.

I think this is the most egregious one i ended up with recently.

Stopped at Exalted since i felt continuing the upgrade process would just be a waste of resources.

This one here, this is what I call a heretic brick.
If you get lucky and get a lv4 Skullcrusher or thunderous in the next upgrade it can still be savaged but with locks it can never leave to his full potential.

Perfectionism will hurt you, in RL and in Darktide.
Just use a 365 (base value) sword with low mobility. Its just a few numbers that changes, there is next to none practical difference.
If you want to grind for the absolute perfect gear, better play another game.

That’s all a lot of us are trying to get at this point.

I myself am just trying to get gear that’s reasonably high base stats; doesn’t need to be a perfect 380, hell of the handful of 380’s I’ve pulled they’re not even what I would expect from the roll so I’m not even sure that matters much.

Hadron just keeps bricking anything that I manage to get from that range up.

Either the same trash blessings, t1-2 perks/blessings, or useless perks paired with useless blessings that’d need to be re-rolled.

I end up just taking some of the trash and making the best I can out of it until I manage to roll something better.

I wonder how rare T1/T2 blessings and perks are, at max level. At a guess I’ve probably seen a handful of T2s since May, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a T1 in the same timeframe.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaa >>–(x_x)—>

Uh, yea. That’s what people are doing.

I love how there is always some genius who thinks people who would otherwise play leaving the game is somehow the solution and not the problem.

Of course, I didn’t mean for you to leave Darktide. Implying that I would suggest such foolishness is a bit insulting.
If you are fixated on numbers, you can play another game to fulfill that need and reserve Darktide for its unique physics and intense action, rather than focusing solely on grinding stats

Pretty much this. I play Tide games because I love the gameplay, not for the loot.

I have over 2k hours in V2 and 5 or 6 reds (across all classes, not on each class either), most of them are weapons idc about or use!

I just love to smash hordes.

Personally I barely use crafting in DT but I fully understand the frustration and support breaking the locks.

I’ve been playing Yakuza like a dragon lately, whats funny is, that the end game grinds are repetitive and rather boring, but still manage to be better than Darktides idea of a grind.

For the simple reason that the grinds in that game are targeted grinds, you can repeat certain parts to get the exact same rewards in a consistent and predictable manner in order to beef up your characters or their gear accordingly.

As for darktides idea of a grind, I’ve taken the input of the people who either see no issue with it or otherwise consider it entitlement to want a crafting system that isn’t designed to waste your time to heart, I stopped playing.

New maps, weapon types, whatever else are irrelevant to me until this is resolved.
But really, if they wanted to resolve this, there would have been a resolution by now that isn’t just half assed half measures that don’t remedy the core design.

They’re welcome to prove me wrong on this anytime, but I’ve stopped having the benefit of the doubt that they will.
