Had a glitch a few months back where the hordes broke and spawned 5 waves at once, me and my buds were backed into a corner for a bit having to slog it out with the undead. After thinning them out we dropped to an objective where they continued to spawn, it was hectic but damn did I have fun. It lasted about 5-10 min before they stopped spawning and we managed to complete the objective. I think a high intensity or endless horde mode would be a fun addition to the conditions list
You know, both times I’ve tried out a new Powersword Mk III for the first time, this has happened to me. Coincidence sure, but boy did it make a good use-case for the weapon.
I agree entirely, the endless trickle of hordes, especially combined with a high intensity modifier, may make for very long, time consuming runs, but also very fun and intense ones. People are easily separated and dealing with larger threats while never getting a break from the horde to do so has always led to better cohesion and teamwork as well, in my limited experience. Bring it on!
I agree with this, sounds very fun, my problem lies with the mission select scree. If these missions take awhile, if you fail and want to try again half way or more into the mission, chances are the board has refreshed and the modifier will be gone.
That’s actually a not-so-rare issue. I’ve had at least 5 times in my games where zombies kept endlessly spawning even after the initial wave period even with the music stop spawning. A constant spawn of zombies coming from the spawn points nearly endlessly every second. Takes us a solid few minutes of bumping a trickling down of zombies to realize it’s happening.
I don’t think there’s anyway of understanding why it happens a player, it just sort of does and almost any reason. Would be a great modifier.
Hi intensity used to be called “endless horde.” I wish they would make a proper mode like this with more, bigger hordes and more melee patrols. The ranged combat is good but the large melee fights are usually more fun, engaging and intense.
When it was working correctly, endless horde combined with more specials were among the best deed modifiers in VT2. Other nice ones were stronger elites and more elite spawns.
I haven’t been playing the new modifiers for Darktide, but I can imagine those modifiers would make for a more engaging Darktide as well. bring on the chaos and melt them servers…
I can see the modifier name now: Zombietide!
