Don't like the changes to difficulty? Map changes? Crafting may reset your blessings? Blame the playertesters

But people won’t. Since they have no way of knowing, what you might call a baseline performance, to be able to complete auric or maelstrom missions.

I mean, it’s not hard to get a baseline on what’s normal as far as being dead or not…

NGL I miss the Carnival choke point. Sure, I spent most of the time stationary swinging my horde combo, but I enjoyed it!!!

Trappers are unchanged, you can check it in the game’s source code on Github

Actually you lose out on a lot of plasteel and dockets, which is essentially the crux of all our woes.

If they boosted the materials rewards by x10 for all difficulties then loads of people wouldn’t feel obliged to risk a higher difficulty.

A single damnation auric quickplay only awards enough plasteel to consecrate a single weapon 2-4 times. Those consecration attempts will most likely be failed rolls so off they go again to grind for another pittance of plasteel.

Boost plasteel rewards and see a healthier game in every possible way.

You get way better plasteel/docket ratio by just spamming normal damnation runs. The runs are way faster, generally safer and the few % odd increase in dockets can easily be counteracted by just quickplaying.

In my experience plasteel is not exactly something that people even actively collect in the highest difficulties.

That’s something we have been begging fatshark for a good while now.

I imagine many people think auric will be a safer bet because it’s more likely with experienced level 30 people.

And I certainly see people collecting resources in higher tier, including myself, and especially now the new weapons are out and everyone has almost certainly spunked all their plasteel on failed rolls.

Either way I do believe this simple fix would greatly relieve a lot of the games stresses very quickly.

I can somewhat see the experience argument. Tried the new map today on damnation + some mod and it definitely required small bit of carrying to accomplish but never did i feel like i was even close to wiping compared how it felt in high int shock run.

Resource collection is total hit and miss. I probably got like 600 plasteel in total of 5 runs i did a while ago.

I used to compete with my mate to see which one of us got hit or had to move/dodge first. We’d get a good 30 seconds at a time.

Yeah it was a nice reward for successfully getting through the quite lengthy level.

Sometimes it’s nice to have a stress-relieving whack-a-mole section to let off some steam. Also nice to have some actual combat and not have to constantly slide about on ice skates.

Wrong. It would still be better to fail on damnation than to win a heresy game.

In terms of materials?? No way, José.

A failed mission gives peanuts.

Unless you fail at the very first horde, it’s not that unusual to fail the mission with 250+ plasteel, and failing also takes less time than finishing the mission.

Eh?! What difficulty are you getting 250 plasteel for a failed mission?

Sorry but that’s not normal in my experience, especially so now the higher levels are hard as nails if one of your pub randos does a runner straight away (extremely likely). Lucky to get 100 in many cases on failed normal aurics (not talking about maelstrom).

Even with that said… 250 plasteel is absolutely nothing.

We need plasteel to be as common as dockets.

It kinda is. We used to get like 200 plasteel per match. Actually, I’m gated by docket now. Brunt’s roulette is hungry!

Wow I can’t imagine running out of dockets lol but Tbf i did spunk at least 500k on brunts to grt a nice pickaxe a day ago.

When I say common as, I mean thousands per match, just like dockets.

To simply consecrate a single item, without considering post-concecration alterations, it costs roughly 1.5k plasteel I think, or thereabouts. That is 1 successful auric damnation match (if your team collected loads of materials) that will cost you over 30 minutes of your time… And if you fail at any point then most those materials are simply gone.

Cost of hadron is not even remotely proportional to the level of materials rewards the games bedrudgingly gives.

It’s solely to ram retention down our throats and it’s nonsense.

Oh I should’ve stated I’m not the first one going down, and make no mistake I’m good. But trying to clutch now is almost impossible especially with the influx of new and returning players with easy access to this new harder difficulty.

im on xbox and i gotta say i dont understand the immense hatred for the game atm, like the only thing i noticed changed was that shotgunners are accurate as hell. the map changes were always gonna happen, any dev isnt going to like their maps or modes being completed in a very cheesy way.

crafting as it is, is immensely broken and incredibly obtuse. the only way they can actually make it worthwhile is by starting from scratch and wiping the slate clean.

i play auric damnation exclusively, ive only noticed that shotgunners shot up the list of “things to focus on first”.

people gotta stop doomposting lmao

I think you’re mistaking extreme addiction with extreme hatred :joy:

We all post lots about the game because we all care so damn much about it and want it to be improved… Often suggesting very easy fixes that get ignored by FS. Frustration ensues

RE changes - been quite a few in the last patch. Shotgunners only one of many. I think perhaps people feel a bit overwhelmed by so many enemy buffs at once but not sure

I sold my friends VT2 as being excellent melee combat game that has NO COMPETITION on the market.
When they announced DT I told the same people and many more that this will be even bigger hit, as fatshark KNOWS how to make melee combat like nobody else.

WHat did we get?
20 gunners spawn accross a chasm, your 2 ogryn friends that do not have a nade launcher equipped just look and sigh as they cant do f-ckall about that.
Bb-b-b-b-b–b-but you should have thouhg… shut the f-ck up

In VT 2 - EVERY SINGLE RANGED SPECIAL/MOB can be dealt with comfortably by any ranged weapon, unless you specifically gimp yourself by bringing 3 full melee classes and a shotgun you will always have player agency to deal with any and all ranged threats.

In dt there such a thing as objectively no-agency loadout, but on a much more c-ncerous scale than VT2.
Any map can be finished with any loadout without any blessings or talents - this is true
But you play this game → get better gear → improve your skills → improve your knowledge → take zealot wanting to have fun → take flamer knowing its even more sh-t, but it looks amazing → game spawns 20 gunners across a chasm → take zarona next game for the 84564th time again

I just want to have variety, and at this point I would even PAY in game resources to have a 95-5 melee to ranged ratio in that just so I can enjoy the tide gameplay I love in VT>
But in my most favourite franchise of all time from which I read over 170 books and short stories, own 2 armies and other items
