What are you even talking about? That the game being harder, creating engaging and intense moments and generating more interest in the game online is a bad thing?
Anyone else remember when there was that corner in the Righteous Stand finale where people would huddle up in the corner and mash LMB till it was over? That event became WAY more fun when that corner was blocked up with pews or whatever they were.
Same thing. This isn’t the first time FS closed off a tactic that turned something that could be a fun event into a boring faceroll.
My friend, you dont have to be a hardcore player. You dont even have to be a top tier player. You might not be a good enough player for the highest difficulties. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. So instead of wanting the highest difficulty specifically catered to you, and other players who might not be on par with that difficulty, it would be better to just play a lower difficulty. You dont have to play auric 5/maelstrom
And also, the map changes are great for a lot of us. You say “god forbid players find a good spot to hold out” to which i say “god forbid players have to actually adapt to the map and engage with it instead of using a boring cheese spot” that spot on the carnival was so unbelievably boring that i personally would just not play that map because of how unengaging the end event was. Same with the smelter.
Wigglemancer erasure.
So what are the criticism’s exactly? Might actually be more interesting discussion point instead of talking about if we disagree or agree with what testers might or might not have contributed.
the difficulty increase is welcome, (they could have written that in the patch notes maybe)
map changes are whatever, they do them
if the crafting will launch the way they have addressed it in the introduction to itemization i think it will be very good
even if i spent millions of resources to get the blessings i wanted i welcome a system that will give you agency on what blessing you unlock, solving the ‘‘spent 600k plasteel searching for power cycler and i didn’t get it’’ problem, even if it meant loosing all my library (which i won’t, since they clearly stated they would give you progress back based on what you have unlocked already)
I dont support any difficulty changes UNTIL the crafting system is fixed. everything is so expensive, takes soooo long its unfair to block any players from resources.
vent hadron off the ship and make auric 7 times harder idc
I don’t know if you’ve ever been a play tester, but a developer doesn’t throw away a system he spent a month designing just because a play tester didn’t think it was good or something. Even fair criticism sometimes gets thrown away, for different reasons.
Blaming play testers for a game not being to your liking is kinda like blaming a focus group for your TV being able to collect private data. Clearly they approved that feature, right?
I’m not saying these particular “elite” people that playtest Darktide are not (or are) assholes, but the fact that difficulty stayed at about the same levels before latest patch even though those playtesters can most likely handle a lot harder than auric damnation, says they don’t have final say, perhaps even little to no say.
They probably are not yelling “make game harder” each time they get a new build to test.
I think flamers and tox flamer’s seem the most dangerous enemies now. Their flames now go from one side of the map to the other in an instant and they often appear in groups. If 2 start firing at you and you’ve used your stamina for dodging then it’s game over within 10 seconds.
Constant sliding is how to tackle gunners but there’s no way of sliding through tox flame. It’s basically a giant wall of irradiated concrete they fire out.
The only issue with “game is too easy” crowd I have is when they use animation cancelling and stuff like slide dodges.
Oh yeah
I’m not bothering coming back if my t4 blessings are removed
This, 100%. But also, I feel that a lot of issues now are people who just ragequit when they go down. Like, we know they tuned up the difficulty, why are y’all acting as if nothing changed and then start calling people names because they do not run into a mob of ragers to save your sorry ass? Smh…
I don’t even know how to do this. I mean, dodge slide I do, but how do you animation cancel? Like, switch weapons fast or something?
Whoever thought buffing trappers attack range so now they can LITERALLY get you trough corners without you seeing and hearing them most likely never played above Malice difficulty.
Also double trappers seem far more common now! It would make more sense if they spawned from different locations instead of coming at you in a conga line.
It was challenging before, and it was fun, if you made a mistake you would get punished for it, absolutely 100%. Now I’m losing nearly every game. Usually to b#llshit circumstances because the new Ai Director is ridiculous, even on Auric.
It was fun before, now it feels like a grind. Game is too small and niche to have an attitude like that. If they’re looking for a faster paced game we need to be upscaled to match this new speed. Nothing is more annoying than the mobs have a faster attack speed and overall faster animations and we’re still stuck at pre-patch pacing.
Just my opinion.
Then you’re simply not as good as you think you are and probably got carried by the other players more than you think.
This is Karnak twins all over again, where teams with people that couldn’t carry their weight failed immediately because you could not as easily mitigate a mediocre players.
The changes to aurics are very welcome. It’s finally somewhat of a challenge again. There’s also always the option to drop a difficulty down or play non aurics. You don’t lose out on anything except your ego being bruised a little.
Throwing knives to bypass Boltgun animations for example.
Since I don’t like doing them, I don’t seek them out to know about them. In VT2 one of most egregious to me was QQ (weapon switch key) cancel for hammers.
And I’m not saying I don’t use them, I’m saying it’s fake posturing if you do.
Unless running scoreboard mod, people have no way to evaluate their gameplay with actual numbers. Some might even find it normal to spend a certain amount of time dead and awaiting rescue on these missions.
This is also the reason why most people won’t be lowering the difficulty they play on.
Yes, yes they are.
One might consider playing a lower difficulty if that’s the case. No shade, just reality.
