Plaguebearer (and other lesser Daemons when new cult would be introduced) should have quite a few roles.

(Standard) Plagubearer, being a bigger melee Elite like the Ogryn

Bilepiper, an AoE Buffer Special

Scrivener, a ranged Plaguebearer (as they can attack by sneezing iirc)

And Herald (Poxbringer) as a Lord/Assassination target

Last I checked I believe both of these are considered Heralds. Might have changed with different TT editions however.

And honestly I don’t want Plaguebearers, at least not yet. I think they would be great for something near the end of DT’s life cycle, as a “OMG its the final battle for the planet this is super serious.”

IMO Gellerpox Infected would be a much better fit, both in lore, aesthetics, and potential for interesting enemies:

Vox Shamblers would be great human sized elites, Nigthmare Hulks would be great Ogryn equivalents, and the Belly Flamer guy could make for an interesting boss. I don’t think any of the little guys should be included.

At some point I might make a full post about what I would like to see from them as enemies, but not right now.

It feels like it’s co op is entirely for people that are very coordinated and on headsets if you especially are hitting the highest difficulty. I got lucky several months ago and played it on the HERESY level and was able to get through it. No problem, the hardest part is the damnation level and as well. Unlocking super-secret level, still have not gone that far

I kinda like it.
It was fun, when it got out.

It gives me some hope that they work(ed) on some story.

Also the Arena fight reminded me positivly of Doom Eternal.

Hope you got a solid crew to do it with bud. :+1: :+1:

No only pubs. Only ever pubs for me unfortunately. I’ll never be able to do the private only penances for this reason.

If you do not like searching for such things yourself, you have access to the internet, which you can use to look up the explanations by people who did the legwork.

If you actually look at the penances, it is clear that the “secret hard mode” is not the same as “regular and not secret at all damnation mode”.

Also, secret puzzle… Secret hard mode…
There might be a connection there.

If that does not make it clear for you, you can use your internet connection and just google your question “how to do the orthus offensive secret hard mode”.
You immediately get showered in text and video guides.

Like this one:

You could make the 1 minute effort to ask someone.
On the forums, on the Darktide discord, or maybe even ingame.
It really is that easy.

well harrison has to end with “ford” in my logic, but couldn´t find a movie title reference to heresy or damnation… so.

maybe a big fat unclean one rolling behind you through atoma ?
jesper kyd version of raiders of the lost ark in the background ?

Gamepass on 2nd PC or cloud client (tablet or w/e), you can use a trial. Google for one they’re always giving them away, a subscriber get 5 keys to hand out IIRC and there’s a 2 week trial for self. Or discord etc. as @Flawless suggested.

They are, each Chaos God has different variations of Heralds

Nurgle having 3, Poxbringer, Bilepiper and Scrivener, of the 3 the Poxbringer is the most “normal”, so would be better suited for a Lord than being a special or elite (as Plaguebearer are already melee elites)

While the 2 other could easily be implemented to do special things or having it’s ranged attack.

It’s not like I’m saying we need Greater Unclean Ones, it’s just lesser Daemons, we already have Beasts of Nurgle.

But they’re redundant, like some would be good like the Nightmare Hulks but other than that nothing they bring is really different enough.

We need Lesser Daemons and we will need different cults, instead of creating 3-4 Nurgle factions

I mean you could say the same thing about Plaguebearers? Idk i think they’re different enough and fit DT far more than Demons do atm.

Plaguebearer would offer Ogryn level units to the Dregs, which they don’t currently have.

The Gellerpox would only be ‘better’ Poxwalker and Monster choices, which atm already are all Dregs.

Plaguebearers instead offer a whole new look, being non human and all, and would be good as start for variant units later (Bilepiper, Scrivener, Poxbringer Lord)

Introducing Gellerpox would simply end up feeling like they’re re-introducing the Dregs, it’s as if they introduced the Blood Pact with the Scabs, even though one is Nurglite (Softly but still is) and the other is Khornate, both still are very much Traitor Regiment. (and why I want Khornate Enforcers instead)

Plaguebearers are slightly smaller than SPMs. They are not Ogryn sized.

Nightmare Hulks would be far better Ogryn equivalents than PBers.

Vox Shamblers as I said before would make for great Mauler equivs, or something between Mauler and Rager.

In addition they would fit much better with the current roster aesthetically than PBers would.

guys, i appreciate the details on the lore, really enjoy warhammer at the moment.

but all in all i just want something more to wallop :joy:

same with doom 2 back in the day. some more fleshy targets make for a world of difference despite the same maps.
