Do you seriously believe they will release extra class once per quarter? It took them 4 years to deliver 4 subclasses in V2

This entire launch has been packed full of BS and propaganda. A marketing team with no clue or care

I do believe they will release an extra class per quarter, but i also believe they will charge us money for it.

The far greater problem is the lack of modders to fix what FS is either not able or willing to.
Expect a hell of a ride in terms of quality of life, balance or general fixes.

Dawn of War 3 was real. It happened. Since that sad day in whoville, I’ve learned to adopt a stance of “never underestimate a developers ability to kill a series.” The game I played in the beta was good, it’s just not great. The state of the classes don’t feel all that different. It almost seems like they intended to go another direction, realized it was crap, and had about 6 months to shoehorn in something playable, but that’s just me speculating with around 25 years of watching the gaming industry.

As for the new careers, from my chair it’s simple, if the game does poorly, the classes will be free to drive in new players (if we get them at all), if the game kills, you better believe each career will cost money. That’s how I see “we haven’t decided yet.” It’s just business.

My totally off-the-wall guess is that new classes will be free, but new archetypes will cost something.

I could actually stand behind that model.

I really can’t see them adding new archetypes.

One of the main reasons why Vermintide never got new ones (at least those that they named) is the difficulty of integrating new characters with existing ones - new voice acting, written interactions between specific characters etc. And there are only 5.

Darktide has 21 voice actors so far, with 12 different “characters”, as in personalities, supposedly as deep and rich in interaction as Vermintide. It’ll probably just going to be limited to new classes.

IF they release a new class per quarter then it’s a twofold concern.

First, if it’s free you’ll have to grind the living t*ts to get up from level 1 with new character?

Second, if it’s paid will you get all perks/feats nad weapons unlocked? It’s not like it’s skins (free skins available for Warrior Priest)

A minefield ahead without information.

Surely though it’s easier to release skins for each class without it needing to be something like… Sienna Specific. Releasing a DKOK, Tanith, Steel Legion or even Catachan skin for Vet is likely much easier than in VT2 as every armour piece doesn’t matter which body type it uses. Zelaot could even get something like arcoflagglant skin or even something bonkers like Electro Priest. All easier to make than targetted armour for a single individual.

Basically modellers are making one piece of armour with multi uses, rather than making Bardin some armour, then Keri some armour and so on.

If they release class and not archetype the level will be linked to the archetype so no grinding again.

And (to answer people above comparing the four class to those at the start of Vtide 2) saying "they only did a third of what they did before but those are slightly better though that the classes that were launched ina game genre that never had any equivalent before really isn’t much. It doesn’t prove that they got more work put into it, just that they remembered the basic from the last five years.

I got level 30 zealot and overall the talents only allowed two “builds” of low health DPS or taking more defense. You could mix some talents but they either fit into 1 of the two builds or have a clearly superior option.

Hurtful question is: do we care about more classes? It’s hard for me to imagine how people will be hyped about net classes when the ones we got are so… well… boring.
At best we will get a class with one(!) active skill and some passives every three months? Yeah, such a job can be done (another thing is if FS can do it - we all have our experience with vermintide games). But even if it can be done, will it be enough to make people play the game? I’am worried it might not.

The idea should be not to put out a new class every three months but to make the ones we have worth some playtime. After that I would be happy even if they would give us a new class every six months (give the ones we have offer some diversity, different build options, different skills to use and so on). But waiting three months for something that might not be worth a wait is worrisome. I doubt if I will be hyped if after a few moths they will push another zealot-like class with charge skill.

This is true for some casuals (like me but even for me 1-3 months sounds like there is really not that much to explore in the game).

So, to conclude: It’s not if they can release classes in such manner but can they suddenly make playing those classes exciting.

What is that even supposed to mean? A minimum to hope for? Is it what you hoped for? Is it the minimum required for something? How can it be both? And who are we? Speak for yourself. Not to mention the ‘assertive’ part where you try to push like-minded people to roll the drums.

Now some of what you said in the rest of your post is true and I think it is fair to state the facts but the conclusions you draw are pure speculation while you try to make it sound logical. Which is careless at best and malicious at worst.

And what is even the purpose of that post? ‘Do you believe?’ What’s the answer gonna do for anyone? Complete shitpost.

Nice meltdown

3 sub classes the 4th is still MIA. This is going to be the same story as VT2 launch game pretend to do things for 4 years then launch a DLC or reskin of a game before going back to doing nothing

Forgive me if I get something wrong. I buyed V2 around 2019/2020 but the first class (grail knight) came out in mid 2020 so didnt it took them 2 years?
They also stared officially to work on Darktide at that time so my guess is that a big chunk of the team started to work at that and only a small team remain to work on the new classes.
If they dont have another game in the oven after darktide for sometime, 4 classes seam not to far fetch, although unexepected delays can an probably will happen.

They might be able to get classes out but they probably won’t look all that different is my guess.

Given that the character creator has us all looking 50 Shades of Same, I would guess the biggest distinguisher of class would be end game armor. So far though, the Ogryn and Zealot’s ability (charge) felt identical when I played both in the beta.

Yea, the talents also doesn’t help them:

  1. Ogryn ult: 20% attack speed for 5 second default
  2. Zealot ult: 100% toughness back on by default

Ogry level 30 talent: get back thoughness based on enemies hit (10% per enemy)
Zealot level 30 talent: get 20% attack speed for 5s after ult.

Like… come on fatshark…

yeah i have my own problems with the talents, but potentially we can help and improve on them

How do you do that without mods?
Badum-tss!
