Do I have to level a new Veteran just to get Flechette? Blessing/Crafting sytsem is total garbage

So FS decided to make Flechette a T2 blessing, which seems impossible to get at Hadron @ level 30.

What the F? I have to either check the shops or make a new character for this?

The crafting system is already garbage, and it seems the blessing system is too. I already wasted 50k plasteel trying to get blazing spirit 4 on my trauma staff. Oh wait for some reason on the staff it only goes up to 3.

This game is getting to be more annoying than fun.

Go to Brunt that will ve useful for your problem

Buy several weapons and craft only the worst (close to 300)
You will get better chances to find a T2 blessing.

For your information, over 200 375+ weapons crafted, I have never get a T2 blessing and I have got only 1 time a T2 perk.

It should be possible, it’s just similarly unlikely as most others.
Getting weapons from brunt is a good idea; Just craft to blue, orange seems to have higher chances of higher tiers.
The blue weapons from the armoury obviously could also have it, but that takes forever.

Most brunt items habe level 1-2 blessings, which happens to be the level flechettes spawns at.

I confirm… don’t go for orange. Higher chances to get better Tier… something you don’t want.

I just had to go through this ordeal to get flechette myself a couple weeks ago. Here’s what I did:

Just use the armory exchange browser plugin and watch the armor as much as you can on the side as you go about your day. Check all your zealot and vet characters.

It will probably pop up as a blue item from the armory exchange in a day or two. I didn’t catch all the shop refreshes by any means, but got it two days in.

It’s annoying. I refuse to deal with Brunt’s armory.

I didn’t know about checking shops via your browser, I’ll give this a try thank you.

I also collected my lvl.2 blessings from Brunt’s hourly shop. 90% of the blues come with a lvl.2 blessing. Obviously there’s a bunch of RNG in it but if you check the shop every hour while in game you should find what you want at some point. I don’t think that levelling a new character will save you too much time because you will have to deal with RNG there as well.

Btw I personally find Flechette for human sized shotguns very underwhelming (6 bleed stacks on crit) but for ogryn ripper guns it is very good (8 bleed stacks on crit).

I believe the main point with those guns is not actually the bleed damage (though I suppose someone could like that) but the bonuses through Talents when switching to melee.
It never occured to me I could use a Shotgun for that, but now it seems I should try.

You shouldn’t have to, but it is one of the best things you can do if you are maining veteran or just if you want to collect as many blessings as possible.

The game currently has 5 slots available and veteran has the largest amount of weapons available to them. Currency is shared between all the characters now, so if you want to up your chances of getting X blessing it’s your best option.

Also imo flechette is garbage. But my opinion shouldn’t stop you from experimenting

I would not go for flechette… but Man stopper is clearly awesome especially with a veteran… but on zealot with sacattershot it is good enough (but not as transcendant as using kantrael shotgun with man stopper on a vet with critic build).

I have seen people in the mourning star literally called things like “power cycler farmer #2”

I guess you could honestly make one more character as your favourite class, and level them up just to unlock the armoury (maybe melk) so that you can see weapon availabilities to get the blessing. I haven’t done this but it is an option.

Added your thread. Your name was already there.

I did. You have to get them to level 30 to get good blessings off melk, (though this being low level might not require that.) But low level toons at melk get low level gear in his shop.

Weirdly, I got the blessing I was after (power cycler 4) before the new toon was high enough, but I kept it just to get more melk milk, since we’ve got account currency now.

There is a mod that allows you to check the shop from the character select screen. It’s excessively useful because it means you do not have to walk every character around. When the shop changes, drop to character select and check on each very quickly. There’s also a mod or several for shop sorting. I usually use 'trinkets on top, then base rating" but there’s other options as well.

The most effective way to farm blessings is A. 5 toons milking melk and a supply. Check all toons before purchase as sometimes there’s a cheaper blessing in purple on another toon.

B. Buy greens, push to blue, sell when you don’t get, collect when you do. This is really irritating since you get too many duplicates and run out of plasteel constantly, but it is nonetheless the main farm.

You can also do greys, but they take more plasteel. If you have an interest in a weapon type, buy all the greens as they present and push as you have plasteel.

I’ve heard of this but personally I’d prefer to just kill the enemy instead of just softening him up for easier melee kill. Especially on Vet (since OP is talking about his Vet character) where the ranged weapon is our primary damage dealer (in most builds). I play a quite well rounded build and switching between weapons all the time with weapon specialist - which actually activates melee buff on ranged kill so don’t think I could get much use out of flachette. Might work on Zealot though.

Yes, I’m considering it for Zealot. I wouldn’t use WS if FS paid me for it, but Vet can already get auto-bleed on melee, so there’s no need.
Zealot struggles a bit more there.
