Fatshark, there is probably 0% chance someone important enough will read this, but if stars align and they do.
People who are 1% of 1% skillwise of your community are not the ones who you should ask for feedback on how to change the game.
Private Community discords / Talks with X youtube content creator = that person is still 1 voice no matter how many people are following them.
Your community is on steam and here (not on discord, that is a cesspool where even the mods do politics. Not a good place)
Edit - your biggest reach is on steam
IF you want more precise feedback, do it as Owlcat is doing = release Precise and Clear questionnaires that popup on steam (In my work I help design these so I can genuinely help you here). You can even reward people finishing them with some ingame trinket.
Its clear you are lost in what direction you want to take darktide, which aspects to focus on and Havoc is a clear as day proof of this.
But if you go around asking a very limited pool of people who are the best possible players there are, people that finish Havocs in duos etc etc.
Then you will make a game for the 1% and darktide will just die, as each new patch will bring people for couple matches and then they will leave.
P.S. some things need harcore nerfs and some need hardcore buffs. But before any of that, you need to have a clear vision of what your playerbase wants to play. And I can guarantee you here, your gunplay isnt something that holds your place on the market. Its your melee system.
No gathering feedback means 2 things.
A person/couple people comb through it OR an AI is asked to do it.
Both are a$$ (trust me on that).
What you should do is to make a questionnaire first (at the company I work we do this with multimillion clients, to ask the populace about the segment of their products/ads etc) and then share that questionnare.
The people who would put steamlinks of their accoutns there, you can reward with an ingame trinket, and you can weight answers of these people more as they put the extra effort + shared their information = these people care more.
You will have some people who never played the game that will fill it out, but that will be a very small minority of people.
Not wrong, but I worded it badly, I will edit the post.
What I meant is that steam has the most traffic cuz the game is there.
This forum is you can take as a place for the most invested people as (it should) be the most direct line to the developer.
The best place to get feedback across all skill levels and across all platforms is exactly where they said they would get feedback, in the game itself.
My thoughts are, what would a questionnaire look like? What would be asked?
e.g.
Do you think Paul should stop movement on activation?
Clearly, the answer here is no, and anyone who says otherwise is a Heretic!
Stop assuming Fatshark knows shat they are doing.
Look at the clarity of their ingame definitions and their approach of content release before wasting your time making pragmatic suggestions.
this is a tiny portion of the playerbase that frequents the forums dude, most are in the main discord. Not every difficulty is for everyone, people forget that. If this is about making havoc harder, then that was going to happen the second fatshark realized all of their supposed to be hard content was actually pretty simple to just bypass with gt spamming zealot quads lol.
I like the idea of surveys, and would love for FS to do them regularly like Crytek (who release the results too), and they should definitely be linked to from the game. But they still need to exist outside of it, for people who don’t play (like this “blackpilled” guy above I assume) for whatever reason.
I mean… they made the game what it is. Whether you agree with their balance is one thing, but I really dislike this idea that FS dont know what they are doing, or made a trash game, or made in incomplete game. Its just hyperbole.
By all means, criticize appropriately, but it crosses a line when it gets personal.
Absolutely, FS have always been like this sadly, they have a habit of making bad descriptions on some things, usually descriptions on blessings/perks on both DT and VT or penances and okris challenges.
They could do with more clarity perhaps, but also, they really arent any different to most other Devs out there.
Thats a bad attitude to have imo.
FS have show that they DO listen but theyve also shown they dont always take the “advice” given. Its their prerogative, their game, however frustrating it is.
Did we get the devposts about havoc and mortis trials?
I get the feeling they get overwhelmed by the feedback, most likely they don’t have enough resources allocated there, but I hope they don’t get discouraged.
On this, the 99% have been getting what they want since patch 13 introduced twice the overall player power, broke most of the events on most maps, and on secrets of the machine god where they intentionally removed timed hordes from the game…
Steam is not reachable by all players. Gamepass, xbox and PS5 players cannot access it.
At contrary of this forum.
However this forum has a big problem. Its elitism.
To say it simple… I think everybody can voice an opinion even if he plays malice. But this is not commonly accepted as it should.
