Devs reponse to wepons changes

So can we now put it to rest for now?

They also posted this statement in multiple threads, so I think everyone already knows about it tbh.

The real issue is whether they’ll actually follow up on it, ease up on the nerf or proceed to do nothing because they’re too afraid of a review bomb.

FS tend to do one more big update then close off until after summer right about this time of year.

So would expect something more end of this year i.e. Oct/Nov.

TBF, this quoted statement expands on kitefin’s copy/pasted responses to include/add they want our feedback on changes and would iterate them with us. So this post, assuming it’s true, is a nice addition to the subject, Thanks @Digman .

Least they are buffing some of the lower performing weapons.

Key Changes in Update 1.8.0:

  • “Devil’s Claw” Swords
  • Tactical Axes
  • Shock Mauls
  • Heavy Eviscerators
  • Helbore Lasguns
  • Combat Shotguns
  • Double-barreled Shotgun

Wait some people have actually review bombed the game over these “leaked” balance changes?

Gamer ego fragility at its finest my word.

I get the impression the Chinese gamers brigaded the Chinese CM something fierce.

I’d really hate for sensible much-needed adjustments to never happen because bunch of angry gamers from 1 (big) country decided to make a lot of noise, including a few here. Empty drums and all that…

The more I think about it perhaps they planned on balancing the vet iconic weapon with say a vet rework patch that may be similar boosts to class as ogryns patch.

hopefully the over reactions didn’t just shoot themselves in the foot to save some weapons receiving a slight adjustment.

Zealots seem more happy to be retunned and talent adjusted first IMO

The nerfs should be so severe they render the duelling sword totally unusable.

Sick of seeing it.

You’ve really gotta think a bit further ahead than that. If Fatshark does a bad job of nerfing this round of overperformers and completely castrates them the pushback and complaints will be huge, and good luck seeing anything else adjusted down for the foreseeable future.

Like if you get what you want here enjoy the new knife meta for infinity and beyond

Emprah help us, that’s a good point.

I’d nerf the DS into the stone age just out of spite, or even make it psyker only AND buff it.

“Don’t be a trope” is a good mantra to have IMHO, feel free to adopt it y’all.

Knife can be nerfed as well, or removed entirely.

Reasoning is any reject taken to the armoury when presented with a dizzying array of swords, axes, chain and power weapons and opted for a knife was immediately discharged from the warband.

To be honest, instead of weakening the plasma, Fat Shark might as well adjust the number of hard-shell armored enemies in the high-difficulty mode. At present, there are simply too many heavy armor enemies in the high-difficulty mode. The efficiency of killing heavy armor enemies directly affects whether one can clear the game. This makes weapons like pg and ds, which have strong armor-piercing capabilities, particularly suitable for the game environment

When the game was first released, we wouldn’t have to face such a large number of heavily armored enemies. At that time, to deal with the scattered gunners and riflemen of the enemies, we usually chose to use infantry lasers and Lucius lasers, and duel swords were rarely used either. Nowadays, the number of heavily armored enemies is so large that the combination of infantry, laser and engineer shovels can no longer play its due role

During my plasma experience in the recent few days, I found that plasma is actually suitable for attacking crowded heavily armored enemies and elites hiding behind the enemy tide. However, plasma is relatively weak when dealing with scattered riflemen and gunners

The fact that folks are review bombing the game just because they merely announced that they are thinking about nerfing 2 of the most broken weapons in the game speaks volumes.

This kind of thing hasn’t just happened in HD2—it’s been repeated over and over in other PvE and MMO games as well. These people are truly a menace.

What I’m most worried about is the fact that Fatshark is under Tencent’s control.
In the case of PoE2, Tencent tried to force the game to be free-to-play in China only, but Jonathan from GGG refused and barely managed to avoid it. Still, they’ll exploit any opening and negotiate like terrorists holding people hostage.
I sincerely hope Fatshark doesn’t end up the same way.

They are. Look at the mtx shop day 1. And how it’s a “social hub” like in Destiny, or timers in items shops, the fact you cant’t play mission and difficulty you want. Player retention mechanics everywhere to force you stay online.

PoE has a separated client in China, f*ckin brilliant, cause market is so different there. I suppose it’s the same with PoE2.

GGG are just devs from another universe. While there were dramas of epic scales. The ammount of content, communication and their speed is crazy. After 0.2 fail, Mark said “i will fix it today” about like 10 signifficant things and they released patch next day with all those fixes. Jeez, i’m such a simp for GGG.

Wait… What…? Why do you guys think that FatShark has some connection with Tencent? How?
Don’t make things complicated. Let’s get back to the game.
