Devpost: Chaos Wastes & More

I certainly hope that this is NOT the case since that approach - having a completely separate inventory system - is one of the reasons why I despise weaves (and why they feel like a different game stuck on VT2).

It sounds like there won’t really be an inventory anymore related to this mode. From what I could make out within the notes, you just start off with whatever you want and customize it during the run, but it doesn’t necessarily carry over outside of the run in any capacity. We’ll see what’s what soon enough.

Hey FS, I hope that CW update will be really good…

No you don’t, because then you can’t complain about it being bad.

Good point :stuck_out_tongue:

Im curious how the difficulty is going to work in this new game mode… if it’s like recruit up to cata+

I still wish to this day that everyone had the option to play cata without it being behind a paywall.

The info in the links makes me think this is going to be another Weave-type game mode.

What Are the Rewards for Completing an Expedition?

If you successfully survive your Expedition, you will earn both experience and a reward chest for your efforts.

New, unique Portrait Frames reflective of the Chaos Gods can also be earned by defeating the respective God’s challenge.

The experience is very good, useful and just wonderful … I hope some special а “Reward Chest”?

And I’m especially curious how can I play solo with my bots in the new modе? All the same it is written: “all-new 1-4 player co-op”…

"You can play it with bots. They’re the same bots as in the Campaign/Adventure mode, so make of that what you will - real people are always preferred! You will be able to join pub games in the Wastes. " - FS Hedge

Although definitely will be interested to see how they handle the upgrading during Expeditions aspect for bots. Presumably you just purchase for your bots as well as yourself, or do they auto-buy things?

Thanks for the link, that’s good. It’s not good that such important information is hidden in the stuffy and toxic depths of Steam forum.

Or there’s the possibility that they don’t interact at all with the new system, being just the bots of Campaign/Adventure mode.

Sounds the most likely to me. However assuming they don’t pick up the pilgrim’s coins, in solo with bots you would theoretically have 4x the coins to spend presumably allowing you to buff up at shrines much more individually than you could splitting the coins 4 ways, so it may balance out somewhat.

Of course this is all very much speculation but this would be my best guess currently at how it will play out with bots.

@Fatshark_Hedge , I’m not sure if it’s been asked before. However, can we expect new cosmetics for Grail Knight and Outcast Engineer with this new batch?

Coins are for the party. If you find 40 coins, everyone gets 40 coins. The bots aren’t able to interact with the shrines though, so the more bots the party has, the more coins each cache of coins is worth to the group, allowing them to make more purchases to compensate.

Doesn’t that mean that bots will become less useful for later parts of those Chaos Waste runs?

Sounds like we will get chests as in adventure mode?

Correct, but you and whatever humans you have with you should be more useful :stuck_out_tongue:

In other words, the advantages of my solo play with my bots are that I can dispose of resources myself, the micromangement is entirely on me, it’s interesting.

Also, I will be free and unlimited in time about exploring of locations and tactics with my bots, right?

Oh! Dear @Fatshark_Hedge , tell me that there will be NO TIMER in the Chaos Wastes, please! There is nothing worse than a timer in Weaves! (although the inability to make my game private “by honest way” is also very bad).

There’s no timer in the Chaos Wastes.

I’m not sure there is actually, soz! :frowning:

A bit of a shame, as they are the careers with less options. I hope we get some in the future.

I’m hoping for a helmetless GK, as seen in the Outcast Engineer trailer (well, he’s holding the helmet in his hands, but still)

Well we now seem to have the answer to this question from the various preview videos now around. 2 Emp chests of whatever difficulty you’re playing on + potentially a 3rd if you do enough stuff in your expedition to fill the Ranald bar.

For what appears to be ~an hour per expedition time investment I’m pretty fine with this. Could have been a bit juicier but it’s rewarding enough to warrant doing it over adventure maps without feeling like you’re missing out on loot progression, and that’s a good thing to help keep the new mode have an active player base.

I dig it Fatshark, it’s looking like you’ve done real good on this one.
