Title. Having a blessing as powerful and game changing as deflector diminishes the value of all other available blessings, by a lot. It should either be removed entirely or made a standard feature of all force swords.
Otherwise, having a force sword without deflector will never, ever, be an optimal choice.
(for those who don’t know, deflector is a perk for psyker’s force sword that lets you block bullets and, when combined with the peril block feat, makes a psyker tankier than a shield ogryn)
Without Deflector, Force swords definitely feel outclassed by other weapons. Infinite dodges with such a terrible dodge distance isn’t as good as it seems.
Still disables tracking (to my knowledge) and extends dodge distance good enough. Plus its slideless dodge range isn’t bad at all. After playing a fair amount of two handed weapons recently -10% and up feels pretty ok to me
Agreed. There should be no such thing as a blessing that is mandatory for the weapon to feel good. Imo, this should be a feat - there’s lots of wasted feat room on psykers this could work for.
When I picked up my first Force Sword and eventually blocked with it, I saw that I was generating a small force field in front of me. My instinct tells me that I should be able to block bullets and lasers with a force field. But then I got shot and realized that wasn’t the case. Eventually, I found out that there was a Blessing that enables my dreams to come true. And yet, they seem to have cosmically reduce the occurrence of Force Swords in the shop. I have been able to purchase the only two Force Swords that I’ve ever seen; one from the beginning, and one that I bought simply because it was the appropriate power level for level 30.
Deflector should actually have just been innate to Force Swords from the beginning. The blocking animation is false advertisement. The Force Sword is not a game-breaking melee weapon, either. Veterans are bottlenecked with Power Swords, as using any other melee weapon as a Veteran is stupid. All Force Swords having innate Deflector instead of as a Blessing you might happen upon doesn’t break the Force Sword. Rather, it provides the greatest defensive capability to a Psyker.
It’s also very insulting that they’ve reduced the occurrence of Force Swords in the shop. Seriously, it’s been a month since the official launch, and I’ve only seen one Force Sword, and I only bought just to replace my weaker one.
