EDIT: We just tried:
- Verifying game integrity,
- Updating GPU drivers, and
- Restarting his machine
And it seems it’s not crashing any more. We’ll test with playing actual levels tonight but this might be resolved, sorry for the false alarm.
My friend recently installed VT2 on a new Windows 11 machine and has been experiencing full crash-to-desktop after 2-5 minutes, regardless of whether he’s in the keep or in a lobby.
The console logs mention it is a Deadlock crash.
So far we’ve tried:
- With mods enabled
- With mods disabled
- Setting deadlock_timeout to 60 in user_settings.config
- Disabling screen recording apps like Overworlf (mentioned in one of his crash logs)
In the final console log, he alt-f4’d right before the crash occurred (since his FPS tanks right before it crashes he’s able to predict when it will happen and exited early instead of fully allowing it to crash, since when it crashes it takes out other gpu-related applications like Nvidia Broadcast and Discord and brings his machine to a crawl) so I’m not sure if there’s anything in there that may show the beginnings of a failure.
